Finally installed the snorkel I got for Christmas.... Honestly this was more of a pain in the ass than I thought it would be and the template wasn't very accurate at all!!!

Replaced my fried spark plugs and it fixed my lingering misfire/rough idle isssue. I will vouch for anyone that says NOT to use anti-seize on your plugs. I originally used them on my old plugs and it was extremely hard to remove some of them. Gunked up the threads pretty good too. Install them dry.

Started off last week up in the mountains and it got to -10F overnight. Woke up the next morning to let the truck warm up and it dumped a bunch of coolant. Searched and searched but never found a leak so we drove it the 200 or so miles home without an issue. Decided to go ahead and replace the radiator since I could not come up with any other source of the leak. Went with a new OEM unit.

After pulling the radiator to see if anything else was causing issues I found the fan bracket bearing was shot. Ordered a new one along with a new clutch. Of course with all the shipping delays it took a week to get in. Finished the install at 1am on Friday, replacing the engine oil/filter and flushing the coolant system then left a few hours later to make a trail ride with some 200 series friends in the Mendocino National Forest.

This was my first group trail ride and it was a blast! We traversed 60 miles of gravel, dirt, mud, and snow covered trail with even some river crossings thrown in (River Crossing Video). We navigated over and around the 1,000's of downed trees from the recent snow/ice storms and needed to clear the trail of some larger trees that completely blocked it. Really learned the Land Cruiser has no issue going through anything.

Switched up from Amazon hid kit to a proper kit (all-Morimoto Elite XB 50w ballast, 6000k xenon bulbs, wiring harness and igniters) the result upward of 30% more light and intensity.View attachment 2892072
The 6000k color temp went down to 5500k color temp (I see a hint of yellow) bec of the 50w ballast (was used to pure white), but this setup is growing on me.

I thought the asphalt would melt, HL and FL off: Diode Dynamics SS3 Max pair (spot).

I posted this in the Photos Thread, but over the past week I have been researching whether I wanted to take a shot trying out the ARB 10'x10' deluxe awning room. I HIGHLY recommend it if you haven't considered it. I was sitting at work when I got the tickle up my butt to just go for it as I had a beach trip planned for the weekend and with Amazon Prime, I would receive it next day. I ended up ordering it through a YouTube video in my haste as I knew the reviewer had ordered what I wanted, but for some reason the Amazon link in their description hijacked it to the ARB 8'x10' room. Which I didn't realize until I was test setting it up the day before my beach trip :bang:

I ended up making a post on my local trailing FB page asking if anyone knew of any local dealers or 4x4 shops that happened to carry ARB gear in-store that were still open (fat shot on a Saturday evening) and miraculously the clouds opened up and a beam of light in the form of a local trailing shop employee (LoLo Overland) posted saying he had ONE in his inventory. He mentioned his co-worker was working late at the shop preparing for an event and would be there if I decided to head out and pick it up.

All in all, I highly recommend considering it if you haven't looked into it and want to pick them up before they explode in price, I believe they are about $260 now. Its easy to setup and take down, would comfortably fit 3-4 couples for some games or eating, or serve as a sleeping room / mosquito escape room which has me considering now whether I should keep my sleeping platform...

Here's a quick video of a review on the room that I watched that helped me make my decision. Mine is also set up on the NAPA 10x10 Maxi Trac awning.

Installed the OME 863s. Started with the pass. side, it took almost 3 hours (parked it in AHC High, the battery was dead, and the axle wouldn’t articulate enough). After removing the sway bar, and rear shock, and putting the jack in there to drop the axle more, I finally got enough room to pry in the 863. Driver’s side took 10 minutes. Once started, I put the AHC on Low, and it’s still higher than it gets when we unload 8 people and our camping gear after shutting it off. I guess that makes it future proof for more accessories…

I had some time this weekend so installed new rear O2 sensors, engine mounts, oil change, front brake pads, and tightened up the shift lever linkage to remove some slop. Gotta say it was a good day.

Weird shape and height to be caused by a car door (or even a trolly if near a mall) … deliberate?
It really is kind of odd. I figure maybe the protrusion just past the window on a sedan is around the right height. It was at the commissary parking lot on base so not a ton of hooligans (besides me) running around.

I have a set of ply ones on the shelf. Thought about tackling them too, but wasn't sure how hard they really are. How did it go for you?

Steering rack mount bushings. Out with the old, in with the new. I used Nolathane. Noticeably firmer than 22yr old stock (but I have no comparison to new OEM). Firmed up the steering beautifully.

Are there any good write ups on replacing the rack bushings? That’s next after I finished my diff bushings.
