When you say clunk, you mean clunking over bumps? or just generally less clunking going down the road? Do you mean a knocking noise?

I did one bushing, and I definetly know I have 2 more to go.
It seems like a prevalent quality of these trucks as they age to get a driveline clunk as you roll on and off of the acceleration. There are thousands of posts on here concerning it in many levels of depth, yet there is always a new post on here or some other form of social media referring to the "CLUNK". My truck has done it since I bought it five years ago.

Knocking items off my to-do list before the CLCC Fall Crawl. Almost done with the drawers. Still gotta do side wings & supports, the drawer face on the left isnt actually attached, oil the plywood, and polyurethane where the stove and dishes will be. Sliding cutting boards/counter tops for the top of the drawers will be CNC'd tonight. It'll 2x 12"x19.5" with juice trough around the edges on top, and channels cut out on the bottom to ride on the sides of the drawer. Above the stove pull out I'm looking at making a silverware/utensils/spices/oils/etc caddy that I can lift in and out. After that, this iteration should be done.

I tried to save a lot of weight where I could, I think I used thinner plywood than most I've seen here. The tops are the thickest at 5/8, the rest is 1/2 except the middle two drawer side supports are only 3/8. The backing on the drawers is just 1/8" hardboard, lends some extra sturdiness with almost no weight. Also its pine not birch. I used a pretty heavy duty wood and only a few deck screws in strategic locations. Drawer faces are walnut but that purely for looks. The drawers are each their own unit so that I can pull one out to put a 3 row seat in when people come to town. There's a small metal latch that clamps them together in the back when they're in.

Dont have any pictures to show but I tried to maximize space. I think my drawers are bigger than most I've seen and the back is at angle to match the 2nd row seats. so the top measures 40.5 inches, the bottom is 44. The main drawer slides are 40", 400# rated slides. the stove drawer is 22" and ~150# rated.

The passenger side drawer, has second pullout drawer for my coleman stove. So you grab the top latch to pull the whole drawer out then the lower latch to pull just the stove out.

Next is the the Tiki Bar Crate I'm creating to turn this into a mobile Sippin' Safari Tiki Cruiser. Gonna be a shipping style crate that opens up and holds my elixirs, spirits, bitters, and syrups. I usually put them in a soft insulated bag, but they rattle and clank and fall over. This'll have specific spots for everything and shelves and dividers. I've not seen great ways for people like me who like to mix cocktails out in the wild to transport everything, so hoping to make a couple prototypes with some fun characteristics and carvings to sell and then maybe I can actually afford some rum to put in mine!

I have similar rust issue, what product did you use for the repair? Looks good!
I had a local bodyshop cut out the metal and weld in new pieces. Then they coated with some sort of rust protection. I think they used chassis protector on there.
There were other 2 holes in the passenger and driver footwells. All together it took a week and abt $600 to get'er done!

I thought about having some welding/body work done via getting my rocker panels replaced but then my high wore off and I realized that My truck is 17 years old and the 3-4K in rocker panel repair would be best saved for my next 100, ideally a 06-07

Great, thanks, good info.

Went wheeling. After 5 years of often quite hardcore trails, I finally lost to the trail gods. This is what happens when 7000 lbs of rolling 100 momentum meets the immovable object of a 4+ inch diameter tree root sticking out of the trail side. Slid in behind the tire, hit at the bottom of the trim level on the fender. All of that damage on the upper fender was indirect as it was pulled away from the body. Had to do a trail side trailing edge fender bend, as the door wouldn't open until we did. Oh well, it was too pretty anyway. And an epic day on the trails.

Completely replaced the the two support bushings(entire assembly) bottom two boxes. My tech did something with the front bushing without removing the cover. Honestly not sure what he did with the front, but I could ask.
One of them was completely shot, the other was in pretty rough shape. It did not seem to challenging to replace the whole assembly (easy for me to say, as the Lexus Master Certified tech takes care of these things in minutes that would take me days........)
If your truck has the clunk(seems like most do) and similar mileage, or age, make sure to check them.
sorry that photo is pretty small and I can't enlarge it. Do you have the part numbers off hand? This got rid of your clunk when putting it in Drive?

I have done that a few times - the only consolation is that you eventually grow numb to these pains :sour:

I keep telling myself to get the bars that go from the bullbar to the sliders to protect the fenders. Still haven't found time or money for it!

Tossed the Weather Tech All Weather mats in the front (my 2nd row is almost never used). Perfect fit! I didn’t like pictures I saw of the other ones with the high sides. I would have preferred OEM but they are long out of production. These remind me of Land Rover OEM mats I had in a D2. $75 shipped W23 model. Love ‘em!

Love these, I hate the high sides ones that weathertech makes. These actually look OEM quality too.

Those mats look great. My 470 came with the high-sided ones, and I guess they're nice enough, but those look way better. Plus the contrast of the black to the beige carpet vs. the tan on beige I got... it's better.

My utility mat of choice is usually a big rubber generic one from walmart. I've got several sets knocking around at this point in black and gray and I just toss one in the drivers side of whatever I'm spending most of my time in.

Finished most of 2nd battery and ARB compressor install. Got some more conduit to install tomorrow but she works!

Any chance you could post this pic larger so I can show it to my mechanic? Thanks 🤙

Never mind, just saw your earlier post. Part numbers would help! 🤔

Have you all first tried greasing the driveshaft? I had the “clunk” consistently when accelerating from the stopped position and It eliminated it completely.

Got front bumper straightened up a bit after my fender bender last month. This is the second attempt. Thanks for your help @Comet
