What have you done to your 100 Series this week? (63 Viewers)

Gave up on aesthetics, finally installed my very own dorkel. I got the Amazon special (Amazon product ASIN B01NBIQFK3) and followed the thread here. I was expecting the template to have at least one of the holes off-center, but every hole turned up roses. Little bit of primer to seal up the shiny parts, and good to go.

Next I'll look for either a 70-series or 80-series head to put on it and call it good.

(No, I can't park. And the camera adds at least 100 pounds by the look of it.)

I also replaced the fan shroud. When I did the timing belt last year, I broke the OG shroud and used zip ties to fasten the top right side. Somewhere along the freeway a couple of weeks ago, she let me know a half-assed job was no good and ate the entire right side of the shroud (where it went, no one knows. The skids didn't catch it). The fan is scraped up, but otherwise no worse for wear.

Former FJ60 owner and Well, 5 weeks ago I bought my first 100 series, 1 owner 1999 with 181k. Since then, on the weekends, I have added a Dobinson 1.5 lift, Slee diff drop, ARB Sahara front, and arb deluxe rear bumpers, removed all of the fake wood, flares and running boards, added Sony ax5000, installed new oem black, center dash bezel and center console trims . water pump, belts, timing belt, idlers, pulleys, starter, 100a alternator, brake pads and disks all around, inner tie rods, repacked wheel bearings, 18 inch sequoia wheels and 275/70 ko2s, thermostat, constant pressure hose clamps and new main hoses and red coolant, weather tech mats, new 1st and 2nd row leather, 12k winch, removed all gold badges, received and will install Slee AGM battery, LED front spots, trail tailor front points, ordered white knuckle sliders and Slee Spaces (waiting) and finally Heater Tees.

The forum has been a great help and special thanks to TNTNola and his friend Ton on the sweet barely used rear ARB bumper, and to Ben at Slee. and Sam and Bill.

Here are some photos of my build. . About to head to CO for a month.
Whoa! You did more in 5 weeks than most would do in months! Congrats on your new truck and post some pics!

Here are some photos. I ended up adding a front runner rack, new from axles, Borla exhaust ( very nice), Slee second battery with blue sea ACR, and built some drawers for the back. I am leaving for my first trip towards the end of the week.

Changed the turn signal relay out for one to work with LED. Also figured out why my front left turn signal was not working. Ended up that the tab inside to bulb socket had been pushed down and was no longer making a connection with the bulb.

Now to try and figure out why my fog lights are not working at all.

I found the head and foot RAM Mount parts, but what shaft is that? Part number or link please. That’s exactly what I’ve been wanting to do with my iPad I use for off-road navigation.

Took her on the Georgia Traverse with a couple buddies and a 4th gen. All was going well until day 2 we got halfway up Tray Mountain and I lost power suddenly, sounded like a CV axle was dragging. I stopped threw it in park and hopped out to see if the axle was dragging. To my surprise the axle was not dragging but my truck was now rolling down the hill. Hopped back in and stepped on the brake before I hit anything. Nothing will engage, not even park. Put everything in neutral, threw a tow strap on her and limped down the mountain to meet AAA. Met another mudder in a 100 who works for Toyota and he suggested that I try engaging the CDL and sure enough she drives like that. Not safe for highway driving though. Made some hot dogs while we waited for the tow truck which arrived 5 hours later. AAA covered the 126 mile tow back to Asheville completely since we waited so long. What we got to see of the Georgia Traverse was awesome though, we'll have to go back and finish it at some point.

Check C-clips of hub flange, pop center cap off wheel and dust cover off. Check drive shaft's C clip.

What's up with the graffiti on the ground? People suck man.

That would be me. Sorry about your luck man, wish I could have been more help.

Been an expensive week since I got back from Hundreds in the Hills on Monday.

Replaced the steering rack at Camelback Toyota at the beginning of the week. Great service as usual.

Since I sliced the sidewalls of three of my tires at HIH, it was time to get new tires. I've been sitting on some 16" wheels for a while now to replace my 18"s. So I swapped my KO2s from 275/65/18s to 285/75/16s.

Yeah that trip was not nice on tires. I have a couple marks on my sidewalls but nothing serious. Looks good on the 16s, thats what I'm running. Thanks for the rack BTW.

Thanks. I had a slice from a prior trip that looked serious enough to move to my spare. I drove home on that tire. I couldn't see the cords in the sidewall and they were holding air, so they may have been okay. I have been angling for 16s anyway, so it wasn't hard to talk myself into a new set.

You're welcome on the rack. Glad we met up.

Added the @TRAIL TAILOR adjustable rear lower control arms. I realized the entire rear suspension is TT or TD and has a nice red look to it. It tightened up the whole back end. Next week I’m doing the front, rack, lca’s, new bolts and bushings. To get ready I cleaned the fluid film off of “everything”. While I’m at it I welded up some skid plates on the front lower control arms.
