I got one of those tiny Li-ion battery packs with jumpstart cables for Christmas...and got to try it out!

In the airport parking lot at about 5 degrees :bang: But it worked! And was still quicker than wandering around with jumper cables looking for some kind soul... I knew it was a 50/50 shot when I parked it at the airport for a week of sub-zero temps.

So the Dancing Hippo got a new battery tonight too!!!

I didn't know there was a local "what have you been doing" thread but I just posted in the main thread a couple days ago. Here's what I was up to on Thursday night if anyone is interested:

What did you do with your 60 this weekend?

My friend Matt is a part of the "Montana Rovers" group and he was kind enough to let a Toyota into his shop for some repairs.

Those things are awesome! I keep one in my truck. Only used it once so far but it worked darn well!

My boss got one a couple years ago. Watched him jump start a forklift with it. Knew I had to get one.

Been in Colorado with my fiancée this week (yes, girlfriend in post #1 is now my fiancée) for New year's. Been driving her 86 4runner around and rolled past 337,000 miles. Original w56 transmission, tcase, and axles/diffs to our knowledge. Runs like a top. Drove it up to Estes Park for the new year and took in the sites and hiked a bit!

Lots of fun! He fired up one of the new V8 diesels and said put your hand on the body and it was as smooth as a gasser. Super sweet!

Really cool all original FJ55 with 16000km on the clock. Even had the original Dunlop Snow Cruiser 78’s on it with no weather cracking.

Just changed my rear diff oil this morning. Finished the 500 mile break in (actually did like 600) on my new 3rd member. Not much metal on the drain plug magnet. Ran the gear oil through a metal strainer when I was depositing the oil at the local auto parts place. Next to nothing trapped in the strainer. That Lucas 85W-140 is thick stuff though!

Time to go wheeling!

A little engine rebuild fun!

Me and @JohnnyOshow22 worked on the BJ74 this past Monday. With an good push out of the old garage out to curb, she fired right up no sweat! After a good trip around the apartment complex, we got the top and factory roll bar off. I will admit it is fun to drive with none of the essentials! One step closer to getting the body off of frame!

The plan is to do it up as a resto mod, it came over from japan heavily modified. The body lift is coming off because no one ever needs a 3 inch body lift.... Im having the body sand blasted, and rust removed with patch panels thanks to steve at overland cruisers! havent decided what size of tire yet. it'll fit 35s under it with a lot of extra space so i might spring it over and put 37s under it.
