it might have been a good idea to drain a bit of the stuff out of the pan before running, until it was oil versus water/coolant, as water will sink to the bottom, then it wouldn't have gotten mixed with the oil and thru out the engine. then run and do a drain and fill.

You're likely right, but I assumed it was already everywhere since it came in through the top. I suspect it'll clear up with one more oil change.
Might be a good idea to drop the oil pan and inspect the main and rod bearings in case there’s any damage from the coolant. When I purchased my 80, coolant had mixed in the oil, a rod bearing seized and it threw a rod through the oil pan.
replaced a fuel pump in a 62 series many months ago, filled the tank up and had a leak, thought it was the seam, a bar of soap didn't fix it.
finally decided to drop the tank and found this area with a small crack. cleaned it up with a flapper wheel
it is on the left side, upper part
not sure how I could have done it during the pump swap.
good thing I had an extra tank from another 62
put it in place and all is good now

It's my reloading/gunsmithing bench. Nice when I want to sit.
Finally started the front end rebuild on the 80. It’s taking longer than expected but I think the knuckles had been leaking longe than I thought so the cleaning process has been a nightmare. Passenger side is done and I’m hoping to finish up the driver side in the next couple days. Also doesn’t help that I was only able to work on it during kid nap times and after they went to bed for the night.
I feel this in my soul.

I got the timing adjusted to 12 degrees before TDC, but now I'm having tuning problems with the Edelbrock carb. (What a shocker.) I've got a vacuum gauge ordered that should be here on Tuesday. I also replaced the taillights with LED units. I need to get some resistors to get the flashers to work correctly. Those should show up Tuesday as well.
I have a pair of resistors if you need them sooner.
I hate throwing away cruiser parts but this one is going in the trash unless it can help someone out. Free to a good home.

Got the vacuum gauge hooked up and tried to do some tuning. Mostly just confused myself. Once I started ignoring the gauge, I got it running sort of okay. It was hot outside and my daughter was "helping" so I didn't end up taking it on a test drive. Maybe later tonight, if it cools down at all. Maybe I'll "test drive" it over to @elkun1 house and ask for some help.
Upgraded to 33’s.
