OK so I decided to get rid of the chrome coating on my factory grille guard and went with a powder coated flat black and then I painted my grill a satin black and went over it with a paint marker that I found at Walmart for $2.53 because the red matches the center caps on my HDJ81. And I put the Ivan “Ironman” Stewart colors on the side in vinyl. I wasn’t sure if it would look good on any vehicle other than white because I’ve never seen it on any vehicle other than a white one but it seems to be OK with this metallic beige. And I also put the 4200 turbo sticker on the back. And in the photo where I’m pointing I actually dyed that black because it started to fade to grey.

how big is your boat? I'd be concerned they were going to teach their baby how to tip over a boat and eat a tasty dog and hairless monkey
18ft Lund. They could certainly knock me over, but they’re very aware - the dive under the boat was calculated, and I trust them (kinda have to). It’s happened before with humpback... impressive creatures

Except humpback won't eat you.........

There is no record of an orca ever killing a human in the wild. This is because humans are not part of their natural diet. Of course, I wouldn't put my hand in their mouth either! :)

That's because they didn't live to tell about it!

Sharks are smart. They always leave someone behind to tell the others to stay away.

Maybe it is the Orcas that are smarter. No one believes they are eating people because they hide the evidence....in their bellies! Not sure this is 80 Series Tech related but it is amusing!

Been having a terrible running issue for weeks. Super rich and barely stays running. OBD1 codes said TPS and IAT. Both tested out of spec so I replaced both, still had the same issue. Tested the wiring for them and it was okay.
Went back and looked at the wiring repair I did 5 years ago due to the EGR melting one of my fuel injector wires, found an additional wire that was half split. Although it didn't explain my issue. At this point had tested almost every sensor on the engine, checked timing, compression, the works.
Only thing it could be was wiring.
Pulled the engine harness and found the rear knock sensor plug was completely destroyed, and actually the plug itself fell completely off the wire with a mere bump😂
Ironically, it was the only sensor I didn't check because it was in an extremely difficult spot to check, and I assumed it wasn't it due to not having a code for it. Doh!
Since 90% of my connectors have broken locking tangs, going to try to source a new wiring harness altogether. Maybe even rebuild the head, 350,000 miles and pretty poor leak down results with the highest being cyl #3 at 40%
Although I've been well aware of my bad valve seals and burning oil, hard to miss the smoke LMAO.
I'm not mad. Bought the truck for $900 6 years ago and it's been my daily driver since, and I haven't had to do anything other than normal maintenance and a few parts here and there.
Don't know why the OBD1 codes didn't give it away properly. Thinking of doing an OBD2 conversion if possible

OBD2 conversion is not practical. You will need a bunch of engine mods, an A343 transmission and a new computer at the very least.

The harness you need to fix what you have has been discontinued for years. I know of an NOS harness but it would cost you 3 times what you paid for the truck.

Yeah just finished going down that rabbit hole. Wonder if an OBD2 harness could be modified to work for OBD1. I'm most likely trying too hard to install new parts and should source a non-crispy used harness lol.
I'm well-versed in building wiring being a motorsports pit crew mechanic, so I'm not afraid to tackle a project like this. I'll stick my nose in the electrical manuals and probably find the variances in my way being the A442F trans and OBD2 plug

Might saw screw it, order new connectors, and build a custom harness from scratch. Would be a cool product to bring to the community too for everyone wanting to replace their crusty old harness

Your best bet would be to source a known good harness from a reputable business, that is what @Cruiserhiggs did for me and my LC.

Had a great time at GSMTR but didn't get nearly as many photos as I had hoped. There's always next year! Here are a few of my favorites.

I'd like to apply for an FBI tracking device on my truck. Might help find it when some a-hole takes it for a joy ride from the grocery store parking lot.

Is there a form I can fill out? A website? Or do I just need to talk about guns and explosives a lot on fringe websites and I get one for free? Probably easier than the kill switch I've tried installing twice and messed up both times.

it was an expensive afternoon for my 80. Waiting for my son in the parking lot, with my dog got. We are on a bit of heat wave here and she's real warm so i had to run the AC waiting in the parking lot. Truck roaring all the time with the cooling fan kicked in (160F IAT from heat soak!). Needless to say, I left a bunch of bills on that parking lot...

The good thing is the AC still blows cold!

yeah those feds probably changed the production data all the way back to 1920! and the moon landing was fake!

I swear the more time people spend online the deeper the dive goes. Better check your rig for FBI tracking devices Mr. Nemoy

I would know if there was an FBI tracker on my rig. Them feds leave a distinct odor that can't be mistaken wherever they go. It kind of smells like a rotten diaper mixed with red wine......
