Wish me luck. I'm about to embark on the same errand this weekend of the parts show up.
Good luck man. I'm not sure why mine is off but hopefully your's lines up better.

Noticed you're in Roanoke. Stopped there for dinner last year on the way down to GSMTR at Windrock. Nice little town.

By far the most miserable thing I've done to this truck. Should have swapped them out when I did the head gasket!

I assume you mean you pulled the motor when you did your HG? I'm thinking of pulling my when I do my HG but I now its going to lead me down into rabbit hole, and debt.

No I didn't pull the engine. But as you can see from my HG pics, you have a ton of room to work on the mounts both above and below. You need to lift the engine about 5" to get the mounts out & installed and things get really really tight against the firewall. With the head and manifolds you removed, you have a ton of room to lift the engine and get the mounts installed.

I've wanted to do the mounts also, now you have scared me away from doing it. lol

Final bit of 3 link parts for my beater 80 finally showed up! Can’t wait to get it back on the road and hit the trails! Lower/upper links and drag link. Just gotta get my panhard bar and DOM tie rod threaded this week at the machine shop.

An engine hoist will make things much easier I'm certain. When you lift the engine and remove the mounts, the whole drivetrain will likely shift. I had a hell of a time trying to get the holes lined up while lowering the jack with one set of hands. Took several attempts, even had to climb in the engine bay and use all my weight to get things lined up. With a hoist you could easily shimmy the engine left/right to get everything aligned.

Added an oil separator. Used the old line so I can revert easily.
A simple aluminum bracket holds it vertically.

Drove to San Antonio to pick up the rig from @cwwfj60 at Endless Offroad today. So happy to have the rig back and so pleased with the quality of the work that Cody did. I'm going to be asking a lot of the Land Cruiser in the next year and I feel so relieved to know that I won’t have to worry about the head gasket or cooling system during that time. Pulling the engine led down a rabbit hole of "while we're in there" stuff but I really have no regrets.

Hat tip to @NLXTACY for his help with most of the parts. Finally got the EGR Test Plug from HuddExpo installed (thanks @LC4LIFE ) and the wiring harness re-wrapped with insulation. New timing chain, motor mounts, air intake hose, radiator, fan clutch, water pump, thermostat, hoses, seals and belts.

Now on to the next thing....

When I installed my motor I found if you take the motor mount brackets of the block you can pull the old mount out the new one in and than attach the block brackets back up and bolt on the mount. Obviously using a jack and hoist helps in the aid of this process. I know you already did it just wanted to chime in so maybe someone else can learn from my hours of fumbling around. Your trucks super dope! BTW

Loaded up most of my camping stuff. Going into the hills Friday am after work until Monday sometime.

Was really hoping to have a bumper and winch by now for the trip. Oh well.

Wha

What bracket is that? And what gmrs did you go with? My cobra cb doesn’t really do much for me and would love a upgrade!
Stainless steel bracket from Massive Metal Shop, went with a Midland MXT275. Crystal clear reception up to 4 miles away while i was testing my unit in the City even without antenna hooked up to it at the time....

Oh man I like that I will order. Thanks!

How does the can empty? Does it have a nut on the bottom you loosen and pull down a valve?
You simply pull it down and empty it.
I've used one of the vacuum hoses left after the EGR deletion and attached it to the bottom nipple, so I can point the oil to a pan.
