Well I had my first no start this morning. After a while of thinking that the battery was dead, I figure out the starter was frozen and needed to be smacked with a SFH and she fired right up. It was a stupidly funny happening, especially when my roommate tried to pull me with his tiny Mazda pickup (which didn't happen) when we were trying get the jumper cables over the snow bank. Haha

Cheating a little... this is actually two weekends of work ;)

Changed out to 5.29's:

Found a bit of a mess in the passenger hub, fixed that...

Also I had replaced the window runs a few weeks ago, but it was too late and the regulator let go of the bottom of the window. So I got new belt moulding and the rubber filler for the bottom of the glass. Greased up the runs a little, and now she's good as new... only 3 more to replace ... eventually ...

This weekend? I bought my 80!!!
Cannot wait to post our adventures.

Congratulations! Welcome to the world of the 80 series.

Have you found this yet? Saw in one of my searches, a guy on a dodge forum got it from Napa. Wasn't about to join the forum though to find out how and where. Was also wondering if there is something similar to this - I was thinking Meguirs but I don't know.

Perhaps we can get the OP (for that stuff) to buy and send it to us? lol

I found that post too but it was several years old, and the local napa guy couldn't find anything in the system and acted like I was crazy when I called up there. So no luck yet.

Well, I'm going to keep looking, or if all else fails, I will ask a local store to try and order it.

Took Desmo the dog wheeling with friends this weekend. The Toyota Land Cruiser Club - Houston invaded Hidden Falls Adventure Park. Great time!

Changed out my radiator. Started smelling coolant about a week ago and noticed it was seeping out of the upper seems. Ordered up another and the day it arrived my upper tank cracked and really started leaking. Guess I got lucky...though I noticed a bunch of other things I need to fix now!

Curious, was it the original radiator?

Parked the Lx450 in the back awaiting pick up from another mudder.

Migrated family into the 97 40th anniversary.. Drive 256 miles in a day to break it in. Supercharged got 11.9mpg with mixed driving.

Just need to get it ready for flat towing because we are thinking about full timing again.

You can order Gummi Pflege,a silicon paste, from Amazon, this will recondition all your weatherstripping

Awesome! Thanks for the tip!!

ski trip to VT - stealth barn

took the Cruiser to Southern Vermont this past weekend, stayed in a friend's rennovated barn. 1st 100+ mi road trip, no incident :)

Friday night after afternoon rain the roads flash-froze and after seeing several cars creeping with flashers on I did a brake check on a downhill - did not feel any brakes whatsoever on account of sheer ice. downshifted, activated hazards, crept home at 5mph. otherwise the BFG ATs were awesome in the snow

just put FSH silicone hoses in in addition to PHH and oil change Thursday before the trip. happy truck!

really cool barn, see bottom photo for secret shelf/door passage from kitchen directly into pickup truck camper mounted on a 1960s Ford F350 crew cab in the garage. the camper's all hooked up so it's like having a mobile guest room/house attached to the barn. I slept in the nest above the cab which I have to say was incredibly comfortable. great idea
