Now I just have to figure out how to program the thing.

Did you look into CHIRP yet? I just downloaded a bunch of repeater data and input it into CHIRP...then connected the radio to my laptop... it was confusing at first but was nice to get about 100 repeaters programmed at once.

ofcourse after the fact I'm looking at the horror stories of installs, etc. I think I may cancel the order ! Here I thought I was getting a deal , and come to find out its like beating a dead horse, getting these ...yep calling them Monday when they open and cancelling the order... once thats done , I'll get the white knuckle ones instead
The White Knuckles go on so easy, I took one of mine off today just so I can put it back in later. Just gotta let the exhaust guys do their work first.

Yeah, I did that with my ChiComm a year or so ago. It wasn’t that bad once you figure it out. The goal was to just get it installed at the moment. There’s powder to be slayed in them thar hills.

I’d contact @reevesci for sliders @onedaatmc. He built mine and they are perfect.

I may if I can get rocky to refund the purchase. Unfortunately paypal can do nothing even though I ordered them today and an hr later wanted to cancel the order. If rocky doesn't answer my calls, etc ( I've already heard they don't usually ) I'll make the sliders work ! I have a small inverter welder and a cut off wheel for mods if need be. but if that happens I'll flame them on yelp and elsewhere to make sure NOBODY buys their swag again... so we'll see

@reevesci is in Redding. I see you’re in NorCal. I would get to know Jason. He’s a good dude. And an incredible fabricator. I have his sliders, roof rack, and dual swing out rear (as well and vinyl interior and Tough Dog suspension). I will put his workmanship up against anyone’s. And his customer service is top notch.

Went ice fishing. And did a little wheeling. Nothing crazy but got to get her muddy and exercise the lockers.

Know a guy that bought a property to develop for housing. There is a decent size pond back in the sticks on the property. He hasn’t started developing back there yet but there’s a “road” going back there.

First crappie of the day.

Poser shot. We continued heading down the “road” about a mile. Muddy and rutted from years gone by. Found a primo deer hunting spot back there. Should be able to hunt there next 2 or 3 years before he develops back that far. Borders right next to a corn/soybean farm with some thick timber that opens up to a clearing. Saw about 30 deer hanging out.

Well I pushed the 343F today/night, my neighbor's friend had a trailer he wanted out, from the side of his house well these guys run the 20"x15" wide tires and wheels on their trucks and the wet grass and soft ground they go no where and the trailer is still their. Well today his buddy thought his 70K dump truck with dual drivers would work ( I told him he's going to get stuck Yeah I am that guy ) so now the dump truck is stuck, I watched the 20"x15" street tires spin on the gravel, so I said hey let me try, I put it in low locked CDL and tried pushing the transmission, well he was frustrated and went and got his little excavator and it did not do diddly squat, so I said hey lets hook the 2 vehicles together F350 and FZJ cruiser 6bt powered, well after the two vehicles smoking all four tires we got the dump truck out, I thought for sure I was going to break something I was not light on the throttle and in 4 Low and 1 that 343 did fine, I was trying to see if I could kill it I have another

Starter motor contacts decided to act up. Solid click but no crank a few times the past little while on a cold start. Had a little loose +12V connection at the battery and thought that was it after it had been fine for a few weeks.

Then this morning, click and no crank. Tried a couple of times and then it cranked (but not with authority), engine started, released ignition, all good, turn off, all good, try again, crank/start, released ignition switch and it kept cranking, switched off and still cranking... I had the hood open already and spanners etc at the ready, so took only a few seconds to disconnect the battery ground (easier than the +12V and less risk of shorting a spanner to something in the rush...).

Pulled the starter and replaced with a new contact/solenoid set that I had on hand for such an occasion :)

Old contact weren't as worn as the previous times I replaced contacts/solenoid many moons ago, but these contacts had quite a bit of pitting/oxidation and it was clear that contact was only occurring on small 'high' spots. I'm guessing with the extremely high current going though a high point that the contacts had spot welded themselves to the plunger portion and the spring wasn't strong enough to break the weld.

Anyhow, all good again for another 7 years or so. Original contacts lasted about 7 years, 2nd contacts about 7 years and 3rd contacts about another 7 years... Vehicle is 20+ years old now. Might be a good idea to just get a denso reman on hand for the next scheduled failure :)

cheers,
george.

Rear axle service completed, all new e-brake parts, new bearings, seals, etc. On to the front axle service being done by my shop Monday. Fuel filter will need to be done, but I don't want to touch it, the lines look that bad. So before I dive in, probably best to change all fuel lines. The thousand dollar question, as I'm pretty sure new oem lines are not available, so....what is the next best option for my 91 3FE?

Low range and part time today.

flushed coolant system changed Tstat. Changed oil.... Still no heat or little heat... I miss my 3FE .... Fixin to take puppies for a ride around the hood.....
There are 4 solder points on the sliding temperature module. These need to be re-soldered sometimes. after flushing my system and messing with the heat valve to no avail, this was the solution

Been awhile since I've been in here new job has been taking up my cruiser time but have been doing projects where I can. Installed an OEM hand throttle today I think it was time to change out my original pedal just because check out the heat damage in the pic. Also installed my PSD racks from @orangeboxxfab a couple of weeks ago can't say enough about the quality of his work and customer service is phenomenal.
