It’s Tuesday now, but I did most of the work this weekend aside from the last few rusty manifold nuts.
Turbo off the 12HT to diagnose an oil leak.
Gonna take it to be inspected/serviced, then re-install with new OEM gaskets

My Tacoma is having some coolant related issues that are probably leaky head gaskets, so I've been using the 60 as my daily driver to work, as well as the tow pig for other stuff. So far it's doing alright. The 4bt tows a little better than the 2F did.

Finnaly found an alternative to the old gearbox shift knob, its much bigger beefier and feels much better.
also found the elusive hood support fasteners (plastic that holds the hood arm when closed and the plastic one that keeps the arm in place).
DIY 2 LED strips for lighting the engine bay still need to add a switch and fuse but world of diffrence!!

Redline carries the prop rod holder. Just snagged one while getting a few other things.
So does any Toyota dealer, got it from them with the rubber grommet recently

Sometime in the past with the PO, there must have been an explosion! I am removing layers of grease and grime from the front end and all along the passenger side. I know the front seal leaked, the water pump leaked, the power steering pump leaked and the push rod cover leaked. So with all the leaks, my truck fits in with all the rest! I may have over done the cleaning along the way...

Cake batter grime is the worst. You’re doing the lord’s work, carry on!
So it's things like this that derail my projects! Many years of baked on sludge was like concrete! All better now, but I lost a few hours on what I needed to be doing!
Drove it today. It's been sitting a lot lately since I've been working on this Build - Anyone recognize this 80 - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/anyone-recognize-this-80.1355924/ to serve as a DD and field vehicle when I swap the Cop motor 2F in the 60. Driving the 60 is much more engaging than driving the 80.
Was making my way up to Kernville CA to get away from the city and work on my project 86 Ford crew cab 4x4 with my girl and my dog.
But my 60 decided it didn’t want to go! Stopped at a 7 eleven pulled the plug wires one by one with no difference on #4 and #5.
So drove a little up the ways to an oreillys to buy a spark plug socket and rent a compression tester. And my numbers were not good 30 lbs on number 4 and 5.
Pulled the valve cover to make sure valves were not stuck or pushrods were not bent just to make sure.
Confirmed the head gasket gave up the ghost 103 miles into my journey.
Called the tow truck and headed back home.
