Nothing exciting for me...just drove it to work.

Put the high lift on the bumper. Don’t really like it and will only leave it there for trail use.

I’m terrified of it becoming a projectile.

When you get on a stretch of washboard road at the wrong speed you may be amazed at how much that bumper moves with all that weight on top of it.

I know I was.

Man, you got that right! Trying to make my 60 white, and make it straight. Going well, the roof by far the worst. Look worse than it is tho. Hope to have the body ready in a couple of more weeks. The homemade rotisserie is really handy!

Wow! I’m tired just looking at that picture. Fantastic effort. My hat is off to you sir!

Yeah. I can’t leave it here. I’m thinking of getting the xrac mounts and mounting it inside the bumper facing the grille. At least then its captured.

I moved mine down to where that lip is (the one just above the fairlead)
I keep the ratchet inside & out of the elements...
I agree. It doesn’t feel secure. I used 304ss bolts and i saw flex just pushing on it. Id redo with gr8 if I did it again.

Wrapped up my cooling system refresh. New upper and lower radiator hoses, lower radiator pipe/heater splitoff, pipe to WP hose, all new oil cooler plumbing (pipes and hoses), new WP, new thermostat, new oil cooler gaskets and O-rings, new fan, fan clutch, all new belts and gaskets. While in there I did the timing cover gasket, front crank seal, painted timing cover, painted the fan shroud, oil cooler, removed the smog pump and added a JimC smog delete pulley. Replaced everything with OEM (thanks @beno). Also had the radiator boiled out and cleaned and re-painted. While waiting on parts I re-painted the front frame rails with epoxy paint to seal them up and spruce up the weathered metal some. Got the font tow hook painted up as well. Also tried some of the Rotella T5 15w40 semi synthetic oil. Drove her into work today for this first time in weeks. Drove cool and quiet the whole way. No detectable leaks. Looks like I may have done it thanks to lots of help from mud members. Thanks all for the help. Best forum ever.

I moved the Bridgestone Blizzak tires on the 62 over to the 60, we shall see how they perform compared to the Cooper AT3...

That's a mouthful! I'm moving to Frisco in a couple of months, may need to lean on your newfound cooling system experience. Definitely needing a cooling overhaul in my 60 as well - can't wait to knock it out before those summer temps hit!

You got it! Welcome to Frisco...….I am actually on the Plano/Frisco border so I'll be nearby. I have maybe seen 4 60 series around these parts so would love to have another around....safety in numbers. Hope you have A/C in that truck. Summers in Texas = fun. But, winters, piece of cake, so pick your poison I suppose.

Thanks. It was a great project and I definitely learned a ton about the 2F even doing this little bit. It got me to a good starting point with the truck. I had not really done too much with it other than fluid changes and little comfort things since I got it. Without doing anything really to it since getting it year and a half ago, its been plenty reliable. But this was the start of getting it much more so. Really, with help of folks on this forum, and the FSM, it was much easier than it could have been. Can't say I would want to jump in and do another one of these right away, but it was a good project for sure.

Does the name for your Cruiser come from Lonesome Dove? :hmm:
