If you can't salvage it I've got one from my '86 FJ60 (same part number) I can let go of for a reasonable price. Let me know.

Thank you @4Cruisers very generous of you. I'll send you a PM if I get stuck and need the part. Appreciate it.

Thanks John. That was at least 10 hours of trimming and fitting. Well worth the effort.
Where you been man?
Building a fence and harvesting/processing apples.

Finally got around to more work on the Land Cruisers. Spent some time today rounding up stainless hardware to mount my newly powder coated Warn winch bumper and almost new Warn 8274-50 winch on the '86 FJ60. And put some more focus on selling off a lot of unneeded excess FJ40 and FJ60 parts, clearing up space for the next projects - assembling the low-mileage H41 and drum parking brake split transfer case that'll be going into my '71 FJ40 next spring, and building an improved disc brake front axle for my '76 FJ40. I'm still working on installing the Thermozite in the '86 FJ60 so I can install my new Trail Tailor carpet kit. I decide to paint the trim that attaches to the back of the rear bench seat - went with Toyota Dark Greyish Blue (8H1), a flat color used by Toyota in model year 1995 (but I can't find which model). I think it'll look pretty good with the OEM fabric.

Don't pay much attention to the dirty front seat fabric, that's the spare seat in the basement, which hasn't been cleaned since at least 1995. The seats in the '86 are much cleaner :).

Monday was a crazy warm 77 here, so the wife and I stopped by Lake Michigan one last time this "summer", to take advantage of the sun and walk in the sand one more time. 30 degree drop in temps by Thursday.

Thanks! I went with the NV4500 which feels really stout.
elementary school question here, I know. Can you go with a 5.3 Chevy small block Vortec and mate that to a Toyota H55f manual transmission?

Weather report: At 09:30 this AM it was 32 degrees and snowing kinda hard on the summit of Raton Pass, elev 7,834 ft.

Summer is over.

Edit: Just looked out the window and it's snowing hard at my place in Raton, elev 6,900 ft.

I, for one, am glad. Our summer was silly hot and humid with the monsoon offering very little t-storm relief. The storm this past weekend was more productive...and brought cool weather. Love autumn. I'm gonna head up to the Grand Canyon. We may find the north rim with a dusting of snow. I just wish the 62 was ready to go.

Good eye, although to be a stickler it wasn't till 1919 that they shortened it from "Model 1912" to "Model 12." ;). 101 years old and you'd be hard pressed trying to convince me anyones done better since.

Good fun fact for the day, thanks.

Yep, have a good handful of family pieces like that, know that form and patina well.

You can keep the snow Jim. Sitting at 47° here with fog and drizzle. We did however recieve 5" of much needed rain since early Saturday morning.

Towed the boat to the river, planning on doing some turtle research the rest of the week. Towed the boat back from the river since the water pump seems to have failed in the Yamaha outboard.

Great I can’t wait for winter. All the the high country in NM and SW Colorado got snow as far south as Los Alamos.
My 60 and I are ready. Great song.
