Broke my vacuum gauge...
Actually, probably broke it yesterday when fooling with defrost ducts. Snapped the 1/8th" plastic tube where it goes into the compression fitting on the back of the gauge. Clamped off the open end with a vice-grip and went looking for a replacement compression fitting, actually just need the little ball with the hole in it, knew I wouldn't find just that, but home depot doesn't even carry anything in 1/8th". The search continues.

gave her a bath and did a tune up. nice to have her running like a sewing machine again!!!

Replaced water pump and the heater hoses and oil cooler hoses. Installed the rebuilt carb and then realize. Will most likely need to rebuild the carb that came with the truck. Three egr Porte on carb on truck only two on the one I rebuilt.

finished…(almost)

[/ATTACH]Today was chasing final details like mounting of the jack set, seat belts for the front seat, and interior trim parts. Just need the inside quarter panel trims and the new wiper blades…
driving nicely after her surgery with the rear gate window working nicely to boot! anybody have advice for the holes on the front fenders? I assume they are hood latches but one was filled and the driver side one had a key cylinder in that hole.
thanks,

Nice!

Is that an extra fuel door on the side?

Broke my vacuum gauge...

Thought I had it fixed yesterday, even found a store that would sell me just the 1/8th" brass ferule for the compression fitting on the back of the gauge...they didn't even charge me for it ("not worth the paperwork").
But, I had to give a little tug on the line to get a little slack, and all the line came with it. Broke off at the manifold fitting...guess that nylon tubing gets brittle after a few years. Hmmm...what to plug the hole with I asked myself. Looked in the spare parts box in the back of the Pig...old brake bleeder screw jumps out at me. Now, why I have an old brake bleeder screw is sort of a mystery, I haven't had drums in years. But it's the right size and the right threads so I put it in the hole in the intake manifold, then put the rubber cap over the open end where the brake fluid used to come out and drove home.
Seriously considering using rubber vacuum line instead of nylon next time and keeping the brake bleeder screw in the manifold...

Warshed it...

and now it's snowing...thank you :)

we sell the ferrules at work.

electrical

Drove the truck about 5 miles, to get some final electrical and upholstery items done. Man, she ran a bit rough (bad gas?).

Just need the lighting to work like it once did and the battery to hold charge.

Next is the tune up and exhaust work and probably carb re-build and gaskets.

A. Good. Day.

Herm,

Looking Great!

I like the Cyngus White. The pictures you posted make it look like a "bone" color, which I like. Some posts I have seen of that color almost look like Toyota Super White. I'll have to get some samples made up of that and Lily White... I really like the old school off white and it sure looks like you having it going on!

thanks!

Thanks ScrappDaddy and lowtideride,

I am pleased with the paint both the color (cygnus) and the single stage simple result. The off white stock color looks dynamite indoors and out, and I'm glad I didnt do the two-tone (yet).

The color is seeming to me to be quite nice since I saw a F250 ford pickup, a Audi Q7, a Mercedes Eclass and at least 2 other cars with a similar off-white paint job today! not old cars but all recent models. nice.
