took it to work:bounce::bounce::bounce:

Hehehe...Ige & I have been dailydriving TWRECKS to work and back for a few weeks now. Then 'wheel the piss out of it on the weekends.
Just twist a few dials, throw a few levers and it's a completely different beast
Never fails to amaze me.

Put some rubber tubing around the triple-sticks to try to soften the rattle where they come through the tranny hump.
Topped up the fluid in the 2 transfercases, let a little out of the tranny. PIA with the skidplate in place.

I bought mine and drug her back home...

Sure thing, as soon as my silver star goes active. I just got in from cleaning her out, found a couple of surprises, but nothing too bad. My wife ended up negotiating on it for me, bought the 72 I had asked about for 600 bucks... Now I need to find some 60 series axles!

Took TWRECKS for a short drive on pavement, picked up a used York air compressor...It came with a 700 pound mount.
Reason number 2034 why I like Pigs better than 40s; sure you can fit a 2F in the back of a 40, but you can put a 2F AND a cherrypicker in the back of a 55. That's well over 1000 pounds if steel in the back, Pig rode like a Cadillac and handled like an oil tanker.

Pighead,

could you talk more on the York setup. Are you going to run the Arbs with it, etc. I've heard of the York, but know nothing about them.

Thanks, Ron

I've not owned a York before now, I only know what I've read and what I've seen in other rigs. I hear that they put out a good deal of air very quickly. I already have a swapmeet airtank that I want to mount under the rear floor. I envision airing up my tires very quickly and running some big air horns. I imagine that I could end up running my air locker off of it. Think I'll keep that stock for now, for simplicity's sake.

ive had a york for many years, very reliable, self oiled. they come in a 5.5 and 6.5 cfm afaik.

they are pretty quick but the scanden comps are faster. still i have done evrything from air up my 37's to spray the rig a new color.

Got the spare engine on a stand, not a bad looking engine now that I can see it.

I bought a fj60 front axle for my disk brake conversion... Still waiting on my star to post pictures, I used an echeck again!

5 shifts

Finially finishing up my H55 conversion. I still need to install the custom P-brake cable that's coming this week, and the new T-Case linkage Georg is sending today, but I've driven her now on the freeway - 70 MPH (GPS Measure) is about 2400 RPMs with the 3.70 axles and the 33s. Sweet! That and the 55 gal LR tank, I,m betting I could get near 12 MPGs

But now I can keep up with some of the slower traffic! Just need a louder radio now I guess?

I am hoping you do a write-up?
It would be great to see how the longer box and split case fit the floor pan, linkages, driveshafts, etc.
