I finally tackled my air cleaner modification I've been wanting to do since I built my F motor. I've hated the way the stock air cleaner mated with the carb. The outlet on the air cleaner was a lot smaller than the carb inlet. It didn't line up right and the boot that tied them together was a joke. I've also been waiting on a part for my old Miller 35s so I could get this done.
Basically I cut off the air cleaner outlet of the stock lid and welded up a 3" ID piece of tubing to slide very snugly over the carb. O-ring is just a little extra insurance. Very happy with the turn out. Now if I can just get rid of this off idle stubble I'll be very happy.

On my Way home from picking up some take out from The Dubliner Friday night, I noticed this...

New windshield installed by Bell Glass with a new gasket from CBT. Windshield had been cracked for 3-4 years. I am now terrified to drive it.

@Funner - Unfortunately, cracked windshields are a way of life here in Arizona. Just wait until they start to chip seal the roads this spring.

You reminded me I need to schedule an appointment for my windshield.....

The Subaru's windshield is getting fixed on Wednesday after getting a second chip that has cracked. The 100 has two good chips that need to get fixed also. The 80 is the only one in decent shape. Hesitant to get the Cruisers fixed due to all the problems with leaks after a replacement.

Amen! I've never had such an issue with a windshield as I have with this 80. I stand a better chance of selling installers on the existence of aliens than I have had educating them on sealing an 80 windshield properly.

From on my travels up and down the 51 twice a day for work I get chips here and there. Ive done a much better job the last 24 months having our on-site windshield people fill the chips soon after they happen. Not only does it make it hard to see the chip, overall I get more life out of the windshields by avoiding them turning into cracks.

If you have glass coverage, I think most insurance companies will pay to have your chips fixed for you.

Good tip. I don't have glass coverage on my 80 so I bought and successfully used the chip repair kit harbor freight sells. Similar kits are available all over the place for about $10-$15. That was enough to fix 3 chips. You fill the star/chip with resign just like the chip repair guys do it and put it under a vacuum with a little syringe. Worked great and the repaired chips never did spread. The big cracks came from a large rock that instantly cracked the windshield.

Yeah, USAA will usually just fix if it's a chip. I need to have them do it for the 100.

Mail arrived with my Lift Supports Depot strongarm hood supports. Finally retiring my redneck pvc pipe hood prop. 10 minute install. Possibly the easiest most inexpensive satisfying fix I have done.
