Yeah. I think he has some exterior shots posted up on his social media. He did a great job and am pleased with the outcome. My original plan was to do the removable option but decided in the end to go all the way.
Oh. Wow! Just spied the Insta images. Looks great! Congrats.

Eric does fantastic work. His pop up roof and interior setup is just a work of art but extremely practical as well.

Yeah his work is fantastic. I admit I was nervous at first. When he showed me some of his other work in person I was willing to go all the way instead of just “clamp and camp”

Distribution panel is done. System is 24V (LiPo 29.6 nominal) and running max 100 A to the inverter at max output (which rarely happens). The hydronic diesel heater is 12V (4A) so it was cheaper to buy one for $1200 and a $20 DCDC instead of buying a 24V for $2800. Most function are low current running directly from the switches. The only ones with relays are the fridge and the heater. All this will be powder coated black (Cardinal BK208).

My thoughts that no more then 2 wires come out of each battery terminal, one to a distribution panel.

Drove the BJ74 project to work today. After getting the fuel lines sorted out she's driving much better. I always see this truck parked in the same spot every morning. In my town we dont have a lot of cool imports. In a sea of 5th gen 4runners its nice to come across a clean Hilux.

Got to have my wife pull me out of the fuel island at the gas station. Was able to pop the clutch and start it once I was rolling.

Thought I need a jump-start, had a jump pack, that didn't work, tried jumper cables to one battery and the jump pack on the other, nothing but a 'click'.

Turned out the starter contacts were stuck and subsequently fried.

I had a spare 24v starter on hand, different configuration than mine, so it won't fit, but was able to rob contacts and plunger out of it to get me back up and starting while I look for a rebuild kit.

28100-56181 is the part number for the starter in the truck. I've found some new versions, non-OEM of course and a few hundred bucks. I'm a bit leery of the knock-off ones though.

I've also struck-out on finding a rebuild kit specific to that number but have found some 'Denso' generic kits on Ebay for $10-12, with free shipping. I'm willing to throw $12 away to see if they'll work.

My local auto-electric rebuilder was not too helpful, but I my take the old parts (plunger and contacts) up there to see if they'd be willing to dig around for spares.

Edit: Gave the local auto-electric guy the Nippon-Denso part number 128000-3080 and he was able to verify that he can get the plunger and contacts for me.

If only I knew you needed that, I've got the parts for a 24v to rebuild on-hand, I ended up buying a new OEM 24v for mine
