Don't know if you follow my thread or not. I also put Scheelmann seats with the planted brackets in my Ute and it was too tall between the two. So I asked Planted to send me a new set that wasn't welded together yet. Which they did and I then shortened the legs as much as possible and was able to lower the seat height about an inch, not much I know but better.
Ah I must've missed that part! With that I might do a bit of cutting and shifting them down at some point. With the Alucab it's got miles of headroom so I don't mind the super high seating position really, means my sun shaded cover the whole road when I need to haha.

I have been off the forum for awhile. My BJ73 has been parked with a cracked head for almost a year now awaiting a engine swap. A 2019 tundra has taken up basic 4wd duties since May. I've spent a few minutes reading the posts on the forum and just realize how lucky we are as 70 series owners to be happy with such a simple vehicle with relatively simple problems that are easy to fix. Sometimes perfectionism and fear on the owners part makes it more difficult, but we manage to keep things on the road and going relatively simple compared to all the other problems in life. Hope you all have a great week!

When I first had the scheelmann seats installed in my single cab Tacoma, the first set of planted brackets supplied with the seats were too tall as well making it hard for me to get in and out without bumping my head, plus I kinda had to duck down a little to see traffic lights. Turns out they had two versions for the Tacoma (one option being taller than the other). Swapped the planted brackets out with the lower version brackets and it turned out much better for me. I was surprised how much of a difference it made.

Pic below with the lower bracket.

70 series road trip with a hat trick of missions:
1) help friend move
2) pull a couple of boats from the water (After this skiff I pulled and towed a 19' Boston Whaler) - front hitches rule!
3) treework (tomorrow) for friend who promotes live music by bringing bands to his backyard $25 each with 100% going to the band....

Be careful with pulling in reverse , the 8” HP front diff likes to strip it’s teeth that way . If you have one of the good ole 9 1/2’s in the front please continue as those are bulletproof

Just happened to have a new power steering pump hanging around and decided that after 500,000kms the old hzj75 needed some loving.
Damn easy task.

Used the pop top for the first time. Just me and the dog, went up to the local ski hill to cut some brush, decided to spend the night instead of driving back and forth last weekend.

The dog was okay getting up to the bed from the cooler...not so much getting back down. I had to pull/drag him to the edge of the bed and carry him down. We'll need to work on that.

When I upgraded to the Holley retrobright headlights I was popping the fuse for my taillight/instrument cluster. Found the two wires to the passenger fog light had exposed portions and were making contact. Took several days to track that one down.

Also upgraded my fuel filter housing and got a new filter/sensor to go with it. The Kzj78 had a cold weather package and it’s this built in heating element in the housing. The wiring and plug are already there, just have to track down the parts.

I made the interior build out such that we and the dogs have steps to go up and down inside the rig, we found a dog ramp on Amazon for them to use for entry/egress, works great and folds up small

Borrowed a friends chipper and blew through a bunch (about 3x what's in the picture) of brush in about 2 hrs. Lucky for me my friend lives about 1.5 miles away.....

It makes me so happy a truck I assisted in building is actually being used correctly.

Thank you @stayalert
