Another option for adding speakers. (Pioneer speakers in this case). 😊

Forget the speakers. We need a full picture of the vehicle. I am kidding....that is a great place to mount them.

There are probably a lot of advantages to simply going with door pods but I didn’t want to go that route. 😊

Just wrapped up adding a 3rd row to the 77. It can haul 8 people around now, which I put to the test the other night. Worked great.

The Prado came standard with a 3rd row from the factory WITH seatbelts. The 77 did not. However, the seat belt mount points still exist for the most part. I grabbed some belts off Yahoo Auctions and made them work.

I'm now in the process of installing middle row captains chairs, as lifting the middle bench is a pain. Full write up coming in a few weeks (hopefully less).

To adjust the LSPV: I did it this way (with a buddy to observe from outside).
- Clean it and make sure the sensing pin can be depressed quite easy. Often LSOVs are seized up.
- Put normal load in your truck: Tank half full, all gear in you normally carry.
Run it on tarmac, 30km/h, and brake..
1. Hard, but without locking the brakes. If your vehicle looses track, you have uneven braking. Adjust this first.
2. as hard as you would / can on an emergency until all brakes lock. Have the buddy observe from the side: The front brake must lock up first, the rear brake must lock up only slightly later. Adjust the LSPV leaver respectively: Down to axle: later / up to body: earlier.
It will take a few attempts. And yes: half a turn on the adjusting nut makes a difference.
3. Repeat on loose ground, e.g. a forest road (not completely loose gravel). You will notice the rear brake to lock a bit to early again, so adjust a bit again.
Done.
I'd like to thank @Felde again for this LSPV adjustment procedure. It worked absolutely perfectly. Now, the fronts lock up first followed by the rears a fraction of a second later. Brakes feel amazing.

The mega church parking lot probably isn't very happy with our adjustment procedure, though ....

Then I would have the added stress of finding 7 friends. 😁

The local contingent of 70 Series owners will spend the day here tomorrow. (Aucilla River WMA in Florida’s Panhandle)

Lol... just ask for forgiveness, and if they live what they preach they have to forgive you

I got the power steering bled and took it for a spin. No more leaks! On an unrelated note, the local hills are more hilly than I remember (either that of its the 3b...)

'The hills are more hilly than i remember' should be a bumper sticker for us poor 3b folk

Turbo and intercooler can change that feeling in the mountains , still won’t be winning any quarter mile race but at least you will be overtaking the semi’s uphill.

😄 you are very welcome. The church will forgive your efforts to have safe braking.

Turbo is a goal at some point. My 3bii has some issues, and I would love to swap it out for a fresher 3b with a turbo at least. A 13bt or 15bt would also be ideal.

A few photos from Saturday (There were four 70 Series in the lineup)

yes, 15bt is a definite wishlist item
i eyeball em up every now and then for sale around the world

Camping and surf fishing at ft. Fisher this weekend. Bj73 showed it's dislike for 70mph on the highway, but due to simplicity and gauges a 15 minute stop remedied the problem. Cavernous rubber floored interior transported camping gear, fishing gear, cut bait, and many shovels of beach sand etc.. Much better in the thick sand with the smooth crossover pipe sans intercooler. I can now use high range to wheel on the beach.. fairly sure we'll make the 3.5 hour trip home tomorrow ok. Think I'll go 65 on I74 And jus let people pass.
