Sam, Be sure to hang on to your original rear bumper. It will be a collectors item someday much like the 8track. :)

It will be shrink wrapped for posterity ... Or for use as beer cans ;)

@reevesci warned me that the paint would be damaged and I am pleasantly surprised. Minimal touch up will be required on everything but the bottom of one end of the main bar. Overall, I would say that 98% of the painted area is perfect. Thanks Jason!

Very nice set up. Jason's work is impeccable. Can't wait to see it mounted up!

Great to here it showed up safe.. Yeah the freight guys love to beat the hell out of my pallet boxes... Yours looks REALLY good. Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks E, let me know if you get some free time with the UTE. How'd the 40 bumper work out.

Cheers all,

J

One end of the bumper had penetrated the box and had been rubbing on the pallet ... That was the only real paint issue. It is on the bottom where it will likely get scrubbed anyway so no biggie. I'll hit it with some VHT epoxy tomorrow night and be ready to install on Saturday.

Gotcha. Just scuff the scratched area with fine sandpaper or a Scotch-Brite pad and paint. The VHT is a single step epoxy and doesn't need a primer before application, Just an FYI

re-installed my repaired radiator, rattle canned shroud, and splash shield……. and I have a sore arm from patting myself on the back because I don't even have any spare parts left over!

Kinda busy lately as it started out customiszing the front bumper on a friends bj70, added some stainless tubing and talked about a rear bumper also.
That got me thinking of my ''hurt'in 70 series. So I pulled the rear seat and put in a false carpeted floor, got busy pro to-ing a centre box then built the actual box to slide over the existing console, wrapped it in car vynil and padded the lid. Man what a pleasure just that change.
Did some body work and rocker gaurded the truck then gloss painted from the doors down.
It's been busy but am now planning a front bumper that can hold a winch, rear bumper, roof rack and suspension !
I'll post up once I get some photos. : )

And I know some rims showed up too!

Yes! five glorious rims that will have studded snows mounted on them (mostly for my 60, but will work for both)

Thanks Onur!

Mounted up some Fyrlyt Nemesis 9000 lights to replace the el cheapo LED bar I had before. Was hoping for better light and a slightly more subtle look. I'm still working on the final installation/mounting location, but wow...these things are bright!

Not the right mounting location, but given all the bolts holding the front porch together, I'm sure I'll find one that works without drilling.

Lighting up the garage! For reference, the headlights are Truck-Lite LEDs on low beam.
