So I started on my power steering pump and lines replacement this weekend but got stopped by a rusty vacuum valve. As soon as I put a wrench on it the nut started to crumble. I'm guessing because it's been soaked in atf for a few years.

The sunsong high pressure line does not come with that switch ( OEM does), so I have to order one from ourisman before I go any further. I'm getting a new Banjo bolt too. The switch is $125 so I'm still saving a couple hundred over buying the OEM line.

New plan is to just cut all the lines to the pump and pull the whole thing and replace everything. Probably won't happen for a couple more weeks though.

Unfortunately I had already drained the oil and sucked all the atf from the reservoir before I realized I was screwed.

Mike and I got my gears wrapped up today. Replaced the rear main seal as well.

I have been waiting since I painted the 80 to put the stripe kit on. Did a little wet sand and polish then Betsy helped me get them on.

I got the kit out of Australia.

That really gives the truck a whole new look!

Thanks everyone. I really like how they turned out. Here is a link to the company. They have a bunch of differnt ones for most makes and models.

So now that all the mechanicals are done, I finally got around to a few interior options. New radio unit with CD!!!! And XM radio. And a center diff lock switch for high range.

And a dual ball mount for RAM mounts

Got shop cleaned up, and storage area cleaned up. Sanity returning slowly but surely after a bustling few weeks. Got some fuel related parts in for the 62 hope to take advantage of this great weather in the coming weeks and make some progress!
