Was there ever an 80 with every switch blank filled from the factory?

Which diesels had the knob and which ones had the button? Or is the button purely a retrofit?

A button you say? I would love that, as my pull knob doesn't have its fastener anymore so i can't actually use mine, it just pulls the knob off the cable/shaft end

No diesel 80-series were ever sold with electronic fuel injection so I'd be surprised to see an electronic fast idle button, although that is something that could be added to a manual injection pump.

Make sure you don't pull on the hand throttle to set the high idle, or it won't last long. Use the pedal to set the rpm and lock it in with the knob.

So that's how it works. You press the gas and lock with the knob... If I pull too hard with the knob.it just slides off the shaft. Sounds like the PO could've used your advice!

My old '96 Hilux Surf 3.0TD had a high idle button, and I wired it into the aux button on my command start, but that truck had an electronic injection pump. Is another truck like that maybe where you saw it?

I have a stock Japanese HDJ81.
There were:
Top part of buttons are Power anena up\down, emergency lights( may write wrong word), rear window defoger, CDL - no spaces.
Bottom panel space for subtank( Japanese models never have a subtank), shocks norm\sport, rear heater.
Right panel (Right hand model) fog lights, headlight washers. two spaces - foglight level correction and one meter panel light level in GX or STD models.
Arm rest plce - two always free and two seat heaters.

One more button in the bottom console is 2nd and Pwr AT options.
Throttle knob from the right side of whe steering. You pull it for wanted rpm and turn to fix. This knob simply pull acceleration pedal.

Under the steering wheel it also have cruise control buttons and automatic headlights swich on button.

On the roof it has sunroof bunttons and, compas and altimeter.

Also I have active vacation variant, it went with 285\75\16 wheels and more powerfull springs. Also from stock it has sleeping gear, gas stove and electric washstand with two water tanks.

My old 1990 base model gx had heaps of blanks.
One thing it did have not mentioned yet was a choke!

That is cool. Do you have any pictures of the sleeping setup, gas stove or electric washstand? I've never seen that.

I don't think there ever was a factory provision for all switches. I believe Toyota made provision for any option on any market plus the ability to install at least one aux switch.

We can leave out lockers and electric mirrors as they have their own space (larger blanks).

For our Venezuelan market, I've seen: H4 (CDL) button on auto 80s, power antenna for VX models, fog lights, PWR/2nd Start for autos, blinkers, rear defroster, dash dimmer on VX models. All of them came with electric mirrors, I believe none came locked from factory. That leaves out at least two blanks + the locker blank on pretty much any factory 80. All of the blanks are to the left of the steering wheel, where the electric mirror adjustment and the lockers are.

We also got the hand throttle lock on all 80s as well.

Where are the controls for the factory winch that the JDM'S had?

Winch control attaches to a weatherproof connector at the front bumper/winch itself, no internal controls from factory.

I'm going to use my electric ariel up/down for my winch eventually

I think the pto winch had internal controls, there is a kind of blank below the front and rear diff lock switch...
