See, Fawker, I told ya it was cake! sheez!

I'd rather be wrong a thousand times over about something like this than be right once.

Damn rednecks, just when ya think ya got one on the ropes, they go and pull something outta their asses. Good show.

so whos coming to help be drag the Bitch to the road where i can get a flat deck to get it home, its 1/2k down a slick trail. beer is stll the offer and mabe i can lend a hand when your in a JAM.

at this point, shouldn't you just bring out the suitable tools, drain pans, empty jugs, replacement fluids+fuel, and drive the bitch home

But seriously, would that work? What about all the electrical: alternator, solenoid, starter, wiring harness, various connectors and switches?

Yup it works. Drain the h2o off the bottom of the tank (mayby whole tank) swap the fluids in the the tranny, t-case, diffs. Swap the fluid in the power steering. Hand pump a lot of fuel through the fuel filter, drain the water seperator and hand pump and bunch more then swap the fuel filter. Hand pump the air out of it and you're good to go. Pull the glowplugs and get the water out of the cyls, (rock the truck in fourth gear by hand. Don't use the starter at first) After sitting for a day or so most of the relays will have drained but I'd start it with just the starter connected at first (hot wire the glowplugs OR use ether)

Once its running you can add the glow plug circuit and power circuit one at a time. If the relays chatter just don't use them until you get them dried out. A BJ60 really needs no power at all.

The only water related trouble I have ever had is with the solenoids in the kick panels. (glow, EDIC)

I'd say that two rednecks should be able to get the rig ready to go in a couple of hours. At this stage in the game, towing would be giving up. I'd drive the mofo.

WOW and congratulations!!!!

I have been reading this thread from the beginning and I am so very happy and proud the cruiser was recovered. It is great to see that your commitment persisted even with all of the criticism and lack of support. I did not post anything before but must admit I was hopeful that minimal equipment would be required along with some persistence and determination. However, from the site description along with everyone else’s input I too became a little skeptical and started to have doubts of an easy recovery. I am happy that you proved me wrong. Way to go JoeCanadian, you deserve it!:beer::beer::beer::beer::beer::beer::beer::beer::beer::beer:
Please post pics!

I like how you didn't let yourself be fazed by the doubters here...

good for ya! :cheers:

Thanks for the beers!:beer::beer: The only problem with trying to get her started in the bush is that she is in a mud hole right now and it would be dark by the time he got home from work and out to the bush. Not to mention the different size tools that are needed ect. We will just be happy to have her home again!! We are still waiting for our friends to send us the pics.
Cheers!!:bounce::bounce2::bounce::bounce2:

Congradualtions on your recovery. :beer::beer::beer::beer::beer::beer:
Your a better a better man than me. My track record tells me if I would have tried what you did I would of ended up killing 3 disabled orphans and 5 panda bear cubs and right now would be busy being chased by an anry mob with torches and pitchforks (and a noose).:whoops:

Not all of us have your luck. It was some bad luck to get there in the first place, but still....

well done.....:cheers:
and well Played....:cheers:

Mad Respect For Joe Canadian!!!

Glad to see the redneck spirit alive up there in Canada! Now get back out there and drive the truck home... right after you post some pics!

:beer:

going to fire it up tonight

Fire it up, drive it to Surf N Turf and I'll pay for your fuel!

Ok, I'll pass the hat, but I'm sure we can cover the fuel bill.

We may even be able to arrange an escort.

Really, do it!

I'll even throw in a 36 pack of Budwiser. :grinpimp:

That would be epic! Drive directly from the trail to the beach.

Surely Island redneck Cruiserheads would become legends and the story of titanic would be retold around campfires by generation after generation forever.

That is, if the sinking happened at all. Where's the pics biatch!
