I agree completely. I've sidelined plans to go with other vendors and waited out for these for well over a year at this point.

To be fair we've never offer a "available on xyz date" rather just a "we are working in it" and that hasn't changed. These bumpers are just 2 of 4800 part numbers I work with on a daily basis so I have to be fair with the time we allot to them. :D On top of that we are beholden to a manufacturer (and good friends) that are experiencing the same booming market the 4x4 industry is enjoying so unfortunately the low volume stuff gets the back-burner, we can all share that frustration.

I do have to ask (and this isn't specific to this product @trump & @HaySeed) is it in fact unreasonable to make things available initially to our regular customers or those that have purchased vehicles from @SteveJackson in your opinions? Just feeling out what seems to be a new vibe with the "good ol'boys" comment.

I hope we can get enough bumpers so everyone who wants them can have them. We're dealing with a large manufacturer on a small volume production. This results in excellent quality, but we are the low priority on the list. I'd like to think that once this first batch is through, subsequent orders will be fulfilled quicker. There have been many revisions and changes along the way and we appreciate everyone's patience. If you're interested in these bumpers and you haven't already contacted Cruiser Outfitters or Land Cruisers Direct to get on the list, please call Cruiser Outfitters at 801-563-1277 and place an order. Then you too can be a good ol boy. :)

Pretty sure, apart from the calloused hands, slight drawl, daisy dukes and redneck, that 'good ol' boy' doesn't accurately describe, just a customer just like any other.

That said, know the quality of this manufacturer's product and have a good inkling of price point, so all I'm waiting on (and have been for a year or so?) is the call from CO for credit card number and commercial dock address.

Think orders followed a few days after the onset of this thread which is well over a year old.

I don't have any problem with first parts going to long term customers and those who purchased a vehicle from Steve first, but as newer customer I didn't know that there was a list that you could get on.

I guess I will have to call again and see about this list situation.

I was unaware of the list as well, that's why I made my first post. My intent wasn't to defame CO or expedition one. Apologies for how snarky it came out. (I blame the whisky) I'm trying to be as regular a customer as I can with one cruiser, but the dang thing doesn't break.

Likewise. I think I misinterpreted the aforementioned list. No drama intended. I'm not sure if my name was put on this interest list after my last email, but I will touch base again.

Retail price should function similarly.

My opinion is that the guys did this right with limited initial production runs, simply to minimize capital collecting dust on the shelf, regardless that some may wait for delivery.

With a semi-educated guess a fully outfitted 7X well north of $3k, I'd opine it prudent business to build on demand and if lists are being created, a cash deposit would be a wise move.

If you guys are in such a big hurry....

Dude, that looks awful.....

I'll pay you $1500 just to remove both.....then drop at Fastenal to ship to me. ;)

Sidenote:

I'll top the list of the corresponding sliders I hope are being considered, in both mid and long wheelbase lengths.

Edited: and if a Troopy carrier-less variation is on the horizon, would trade place on initial run for future production thereof.

Good things come to those who wait. :) Most vendors on here have been pretty good to me and get back to me within a few days. Some are slow to respond...like almost never do.

when i was younger, i used to get impatient, i thought waiting for sliders and bumpers for 3-4 months was bad. Now im ok with the wait, saves me money and keeps me from buying more :-P

On a related note, for those who will be purchasing and installing these I would recommend changing out all of your tail light bulbs with new bulbs or upgrading to LEDs prior to installing the swing arms. I'm putting in LEDs all around and to get the tail light assembly out you have to remove the swing arm. Not difficult, just a pain in the butt.

Are your tail light lenses (the turn signal part) blocked at all by any part of the swing arm?

Yup. See below. Solved with the lights in the bumper...

And some better pics form Kurt's buildup thread can be found here:

Looks good. Like the way the problem was addressed with that bumper. :)

This was one of the problems we noticed in the prototype. The new version will allow you to remove the tail light lenses without removing the swingouts, there's enough space to get a screw bit on a socket head in there.

I stand corrected. Forget what I said before then. I guess this is my cross to bear as the original prototype owner:(

Edit: I'm able to get the screw out, just can't pull the whole housing out to get the bulbs out. Pivot doesn't leave enough room to squeeze it out.

Yes, there is just enough room to get it out now. This was the cost of being the first cool kid on the block unfortunately. :)
