So I’ve been searching for this 20 inch wide 16 deep evaporator. Decided to go out to the local junkyard and walk around. Found what I think will be perfect out of a Honda. Best thing was I walked around and found a brand new one in a car.

I have a vintage air super series climate control system. This is the condenser I use, but I think it is too small. Universal Air Conditioner CN 20015XC A/C Condenser Amazon product ASIN B0100721JA

Dimensions show that would be too big for my application, without messing around with the radiator housing

Got the anti-inversion shackles but guess what… anti-inversion bolt hits when no load on axle, can this be right???

Here is how it sits with load on it…. I’m probably going to add about 400 pounds of bumpers and rear cargo stuff.

Looks right to me, the more load on it the further away it well get.
I have never used them, but it looks like it's doing what it supposed to.

We had unseasonably warm weather today 65°. Of course it’s supposed to snow tomorrow!!! So with the break in the weather I rolled it out and sprayed the raptor liner after I sanded the sound deadener with 80 grit. Two solid coats, 3 Liters of raptor.

Of course to roll it out I had to put the wheels and tires on first time I had a look at the car with the lift and the bigger tires! Me likely!!!

It's not a drop in/bolt in. I made it all work with scrap metal tabs and self tapping screws. Again I think it is too small.

That's a really beautifull truck you've got there. Your work is at a higher level than mine. I'm kind of a get it done functional, strong, inexpensive, and fast without worrying too much about how it looks. My work "works" about 85% of the time. 15% I have to go back and redo or fix. (but It's normally not that hard and for me it's a learning process).. Often I get it working pretty quick and later down the road I redo it better.....Some guys are perfectionist and I admire that, but often they get "stuck" on some point that doesn't really matter when they could be out driving their rig. Those guys need a imperfect get'R'done nudge sometimes to keep things moving along.

I totally agree, and am guilty of overthinking and trying to find the "best" solution when in the end I am wasting time -- however, most of the time it works out for the best. This radiator is a good example, I could have made it work with adapters out of every hole to get to the LS.... however, I am taking the time to make it nice and clean. Of course if the radiator ever shells, it will not be a quick fix....

paging all LS guru's. the Power steering is leaking, looks like the junkyard one had some damage to the kidney resevior. So, why is there three different ones available ? Any idea how to figure out which one I have? What is the difference? @thatcabledude @Broski @cruisermatt @robmobile73

Some are for trucks with hydroboost brakes. They’ll have a second tube coming out the side of them for the return.

ordered the

208739 had the extra tube you were talking about.

and I noticed that the 208740 had a solid casting on the front bottom, where my current has a threaded plug.

Started working on the sliders. Went great until I realized I did not have enough material to do the other side. Outer is 1.5 inch DOM, while the main tube is 1.75. .1875 wall.

Did find a new AC condenser that’s the exact same size as the old one except the old was a lot thicker and has more tubes.

Mounted the power steering cooler. This came out of some Ford vehicle. I like these as they are solid, not wimpy fins that can get bent with a power washer. fits perfectly once I found the right angle fittings, 5/16 brake line thread to barb. took the original mounts for the paperclip, extended them and put them in the new location. Inside is sits slightly less than flush, so will not be in the way of the A/C condensor.

pushed it out again to help a buddy welding some exhaust, and just had to take a picture of it.

found one set of seat mounts, so installed the driver seat so I can finalize where the shifter needs to go.... and the bad news of the day is that I can't find the passenger side brackets. I know they were not there when I went to powdercoat a few months ago, so I have a feeling that I am going to have to make them again....

Been working on small things when time allows. Decided to do twin sticks for the transfer as we moved it back about 6-8 inches.
