I was about to buy 2, one for my son to watch netflix and learn how to surf the web on and one for me to surf the web without cranking up a laptop and to use in the kitchen for recipes. However, there is no way to stream Netflix as it doesn't have an app and it uses Microsoft Silverlight which doesn't work with netflix streaming.

Now for a cheap web browser, $99 is the way to go. CDW still has plenty online.

I really wasn't planning on buying one until the price dropped. I was waiting on Lenovo to come out with one with a win7 os. But for less than 99 bucks, why not.

I didnt see any on CDW's site.
 
wouldnt mind getting one. Saw none on tigerdirect or cdw. Well tigerdirect has them but advertised at $399 still. Wedding anniversary is wednsday. Would have been perfect for the wife.
 
All you really can do is wait. We went from having 17k on hand to having 50k on backorder. They'll find ways to local stores and online in a few days. Right now its been crazy trying to manage who and how many resellers will get. HP direct sold 70k in one day and best buy sold 240k in a weekend.

We tried out an HP tablet in the company a few months ago with the Win7 OS and everyone HATED it! The Ipad is the way to go, just buy an Ipad 1 from Sam's or somewhere. It's hard to beat Apple, they pretty much have a hold on the personal touch screen market. My IPOD touch has been great over the past 5 years, and I swear no one has yet to come out with a product that even comes close to it. The Ipad is a big IPOD touch, which is nice. Who needs to do all of there work on a tablet, that's what laptops are for.:meh:

But for $100 it is tempting just as a browser around the house. CDW won't let you order online now, guess I should have bought it while it was up. Kind of like that welder that Marshall found on Grainger's.

I think your talking about the HP slate 500. Its ok.

I'd rather spend the extra cash for a lenovo or panasonic toughbook.

Not a big apple fan.

neither belong to me, they belong to my wife and daughter.

Both of them also have iphones one being the newest version.

I'm not sure why anyone would need so many "I" products but if i could i'd be putting them all on ebay

my 3 yr old does prefer the ipad over everything else.

He likes fruit ninja and watchnig netflix.

I've got angry birds on my droid so i need nothing else.
