Just wanted to welcome/let you all know that Jeff Taylor, @JToobe is going to be heading up the events coordinator position. We are working to get some things organized and get monthly meetings back on track, and firm up some trip details.

Greetings folks! Will send a response out this evening to Teddys email with some background on me/my family. Looking forward to getting involved in the club!

Picking up a set of sliders on Friday. I don't know how to weld. Anyone know how to weld/have any recommendations? They are weld on and I want them on for GSMTR. I know Marshall and his guys can do it, but they are slammed right now, so just looking for other options.

...Update...I was able to find a local guy to me to do it. I called 5 or 6 body shops and they all refused to weld on a frame. Weird.

Southeast overland as well for install.

On another note be on the lookout with sports authority. They are going into bankruptcy and may have to close all of their stores. May be able to pick up some deals on camping equipment etc.

Hope everyone is well. Haven't been on MUD much since they killed the Tapatalk app/partnership. We recently moved ~ 5 mi closer to Abbeville. Once we gat settled (does that ever happen when you move?) I hope to get busy on a few projects, 5 garage spaces + 2 paved lean-tos give me plenty of room inside. While 5 acres give plenty outside space. :)

Picked this up last month:

Plans are to keep patina and get it back on the road. (Built 360FE w/cam, 3 on tree, 8.8 explorer rear 3.73, disc, Crown vic Front swap, all can rust removed and a few other things.)

anybody got a rh cargo panel from a fj60 i can borrow/trace? Wanting to make one out of wood for my 60. Only need rh side and not in a hurry.

Spent the weekend camping at devils fork state park on lake jocassee. Had awesome weather other than Thursday night. Saw a awesome well built 80 as well. On another note I think the fuel pump died on the boat. Made it back to the dock on a prayer. Its definitely a fuel related issue.

I thought I would write this here since it isn't exactly cruiser related but it was involving my 40 this past weekend. So... After church yesterday, My Mom called me and said she and her sisters were up at the Barnyard Flea Market, just off Hwy 101 in Greer, selling a few things. She said one of her sisters had a few nice fishing shirts and thought I might want them. Since my wife and kids were gone to the beach, I decided to get the 40 out of the garage and ride up there. It was a nice, cool day and a perfect day to break out the 'convertible."

It was about 12:30 and the parking lot was fairly crowded. After getting a few waives and a few thumbs up, I parked the topless 40 in the back gravel lot. I was in the second row. There are several other rows farther behind where I parked. I walked to where my Mom was located, bought two shirts and did a quick walk through 2 of the buildings. I was literally there less than 20 minutes.
When I got back, I did the normal look over the 40 as I always feel like someone may mess with it when the top was off. Nothing seemed out of place so I headed back home. Later yesterday afternoon, I noticed something. Someone took my new ball mount and brand new 2" ball off the 40 while it was sitting in the parking lot. It was right after noon and someone brazenly took the thing out of the hitch and took it with them. What scum!!!!!! The sad part is that while it isn't very much money, and I keep the nicer adjustable one locked on my truck, I had just put a new 2" ball on this receiver hitch mount because the old one looked so bad. The other thing is that the way this Man-a-free hitch is made, several of my other ball mounts and attachments didn't fit it (too small of an opening) and the one I had didn't even need modifying or grinding... It was the only one that will fit without modifying it!

I say all that to say this.... I hate a freaking thief! Dear Mr. Scumbag, I hope your trailer that you tow with my tow ball comes off and lands in a really deep ditch filled with snake infested water. Heck, you are probably towing a stolen trailer with a stolen lawn mower on it anyways....

Ok, I feel a little better now...o_O Not really!

That's the hitch you got from me!? They double thieved you! Man, that sucks.

To be clear, they didn't steal the actual receiver, bolted to the vehicle. Just the ball mount and the ball. Had they stolen the actual receiver, I would have blown a gasket.

I posted this in 80s tech, but I figured I'd put it here as well.

Yes, I searched:flipoff2::flipoff2:.

So, the trusty old 80 is no longer going to be my DD. That being said, I plan to move on to the next phase of my "build". This worked out at a great time because I need new tires this year. I've been running 315/75r16 tires for several years now and I plan move up to 37s. All my wheeling is east of the Mississippi, wet trails and muddy rocks.

I have been thinking about a set of TSLs, but recently I've been debating the 38.5x11r16 Bogger. Current suspension set up is full 4 inch Ironman heavy, double cardan front shaft, adjustable panhards, etc...

Who else has ever run this size Bogger? I am not going to lift any higher. Rear end will be fine, I'm not opposed to cutting the front fenders, or using a BFH. I'm thinking I'll be ok as far as lock to lock contact, as these will be narrower than what I'm running now. Road manners are not a concern. Yes, I know they are heavy. Anywhere over two hours away, it will be going on a trailer.

Thanks for any help! I know someone had this setup a few years ago. Jason, @jfz80 , didn't a couple guys in ONSC run this?

There is a thread on ONSC about an 80 on 40's, you might check it out.

Yeah I've seen it. I'm not lifting anymore. I was doing some measuring this morningand I think I'll be good if I cut the back of the front fenders and maybe an inch out of the back.
