There is a certain kind of luck only us Whitmire have.

Lost a bleeder valve testing out my new brakes. New valve will be here in the morning.

Well, you all talked me out of a Tundra. After looking at lots of trucks, I found this mint F350 7.3L Powerstroke with only 117k miles:

The cap will have to go for hauling bikes. But it's nice for camping in! I competed at AHRMA cross country in Chester, SC this weekend and won 1st in Post Vintage Historic 200cc class.

Today I sadly sold the FJ60 to a friend-of-a-friend named Rob, you should meet him soon. He's excited to join IH8MUD and UC.

Maybe I'll upgrade the wife to a Land Cruiser soon. Or find a crusty 40 or 80 to build into a wheeling machine. :D

Thanks for passing the torch on the FJ60 Daniel! As soon as you left the house I picked up a friend and took off driving up Hwy 11 for a little Sunday Scenic Cruise. Couldn't wipe the smile off my face. Looking forward to meeting more of the IH8MUD and UC crowd!

Daniel, that's a nice truck. I didn't realize you were planning to sell your 60 though. I know I'm biased, but I would recommend building a crusty 80 for a wheeler over a 60.

I have been contemplating selling my 60 and 40 to buy a f250. I want a truck to haul the boat with this summer probably could just sell the 60 and get one. Haven't made up my mind as I am emotionally attached to it.

Talked to a friend in Abbeville today who is picking up a 100 in the coming weeks. He should be to the UC section before too long. John Andrew is his name.

Who was it that did powder coating? I know ACC does, might be too far for me.
Looking to see what it would cost to do a set of 5 - LX450 rims.

A buddy of mine had some wheels done at Apex Powder Coating, it's on Woodruff Industrial Lane if you can fight the traffic.

Woodruff Rd. Isn't my favorite that's for sure. Then again I kinda avoid most of Gville, too much traffic for me.
Wonder how much it cost him. I'm pretty sure these will need to be stripped too.

Many of you I have never meet, and those that I have meet may know that I am Police Officer for the City of Gvl. Below is a link if you wish to spread the word or partake in helping my friends wife and kids. He was a great guy to work with and he will be missed, its hard to believe its real, but his wife and kids need the focus now.

A fund has also been setup at TD bank to help his family. Donation can be made at any branch by specifying that it is for Officer Allen Jacob’s family.

Just heard back from apex. He misunderstood that I said 6 rims, but I am sure the price per rim is similar. 6 would be $650 and a week to get them done. That's a little too rich for me on this project. Might check around local and see if anyone has a smaller operation. They don't have to be perfect, but would like it to be a quality finish that will last. Spray paint on those VW rims I had didn't last more than a few months. Otherwise I'll just run them as is or maybe try plastidip.

Try C&M powder coating in Piedmont. They do all my rims.

I use apex for general black and silver stuff. They usually are pretty reasonable.

Spending the week in D.C. touring the Smithsonian museums. Seen some really cool things. This is a tucker automobile.

It's like Christmas....discovered the UC club section and now this! I guess Marshall was trying to tell me about these threads but i was too obtuse to comprehend.....Name: Jeff Taylor, previous UC member back in 99-04 ish, had a Silver 60, then a Grey 62 and then a tan 40. I drive a red 88 62 most of the time and work downtown in the Riverplace area (Lazy Goat/Hampton Inn). My wife drives it when she wants to the rest of the time! Youngest daughter drives a green 94 FZJ and Marshall is finishing up the list of wants (for now) on my Tan 76 40 purchased in December. Owned the LX470 that Marshall's wife Rebecca now has for 10 years and we miss it but know it's loved! Looking forward to connecting and getting more active in club, especially after my oldest daughter gets married the end of May!

I believe that I've talked to you outside of oobe, and have seen the red 88 around downtown and the 80. I work off duty security at RiverPlace all the time after hours.
