I need 2 each of these guys - retainers for the bushings on my front shocks. They don't ship with the new Tokico shocks I bought from Ralph Hayes Toyota. They're about 2 inches in diameter with a 3/4 inch opening and a 1/2 inch opening respectively.

Passed @pondjumpr and family in his 40 yesterday on my way up to Asheville. Looked like you guys were having fun! Then had a great time at the Sturgill Simpson concert, didn't get back to our hotel room until about 0200 this morning, slept until 0500 then woke up and took a shower and drove 2 hours to work. I have a feeling I'll be going to bed early tonight.
Yep. I saw you pulling out onto Hwy 25 but had no idea you were headed North.
We headed up to the waterfall off Hwy 11, near where I saw you fishing that day, for a short hike with the wife, two kids and dog, all in the 40. I just painted my wheels a few weeks ago and pulled the weights. I still need to get the balanced. Needless to say, anything over 50 was a little iffy. You had no trouble catching me. :)

The weather was so nice yesterday and today. I am ready for the hot weather to be gone.

I took the 40 to Bi-lo in Greer last Saturday to get the dog out of the house and let my wife pick up a few things. The kids were with Grandma so we didn't know what to do with our time. It's only a mile or so from my house so it's a good short trip to keep things lubricated after sitting in the garage weeks at a time.

I dropped my wife off and since it was hot, I pulled to the side of the building for some shade (only had the bikini on). Well, as usual, some guy starts walking towards me as I park. I swear it happens every time I go to Bi-lo or Lowe's. I figured it was going to be the standard "I like your Jeep" or "cool Jeep." To which I can never bite my tongue ("Thanks but it's not a Jeep, it's a Toyota"). Well, the guy walks up and says "I like your Landcruiser." WOW... That's a good start.

He proceeds to tell me that he had not seen me around town before but that he also had a '78 and lived in Greer. His is Green with a SBC but from the pics I saw on his phone, it looked clean. After chatting with him for a bit, while my wife wandered the aisles of Bi-lo, I told him he should look up ih8mud.com as well as UC. He was not farmiliar with either to my knowledge so hopefully we have another local guy to join us at some point.

His name was Brandon if anyone sees him while driving in the Upstate.

Jeff

After canvassing the upstate in search of mounting hardware I found myself following a like-new '86 60 series into my neighborhood. "Elliot" is not a member of the club yet but expressed interest in joining. Great looking truck!

Well didn't make it to work tonight. Jetta acted like it was shifting hard the the epc light came on. Stopped to get gas then it would not start back up. After several tries it started back up but I was afraid to drive it. According to Internet it may just be a bad sensor. We will see.

I know that I've been quiet lately, some might even have forgotten what I look like, but I'm still here. Moved last summer, remodeled the carport to the mother-in-law suite, keeping up with those 4 kids, work has exploded, and now we've just started the build of my shop (part of the reason for the move).

Here's a link to the shop. The quick specs are it will be a 30x30, with 11' walls. 2/12 pitch roof will allow a 2 post lift 3' off the wall, which lines up with the doors. It'll be a metal garage with roll-up doors.

Would y'all be interested in me posting the build thread in the UC page as well?

Here's a teaser pic

And yes, I plan to host a HAMOM or two...

Sure, post up a build thread!

The power of vinegar!

These came off the 40. I forgot to take a before pic but I submerged these in vinegar for about a week. Every couple days or so I shook them a couple times. They were so rusty I thought I was going to have to replace them.

@the gimpey one , I can't believe I never thought about vinegar. I restore cast iron cookware and once it is cleaned, it rusts and vinegar not only neutralizes the Lye from cleaning it, it removes the rust. I never thought about it for small parts. DOH!

I just spent time with mine on the bench grinder and held them with needle nose pliers. Of course, mine had some paint on them, too but a vinegar bath would have been a good idea.

Going to work on something different today. Installing a boost gauge and EGT gauge in my brother in laws 7.3 F450. Should be interesting.

That sounds like a tow-monster....

Due to lack of major funds for the 40 and the rain I pulled this out today. The middle burner does not work for some reason. Wanted to take it apart and clean it up and see if there is some blockage in the line but the screw is stripped. Going to see if I can find a Drexel and re slot the head of the screw. This stove is rather large but because there is six of us a third burner would be nice.

He tows a 37 foot horse trailer with it. Just doesn't work on trucks. Steve stopped by for a bit too. I got the fittings in now. Just wiring everything up.

As you can see, bro in law and his buddy are working hard. I'm wondering why I'm the only one covered in grease.
