Sell them to you. You OK there Bob? We've talked about this

HA-HA-HA, yep I am still committed to buying it, but I am always looking for new parts... I did not realize the one I was buying was coming from your personal vehicle....

Met with Stan @ Hardline Fabrication today. Going to pick up the 83 mini next Saturday. Plan is to get it running, hopefully swap the cab over and sell it to fund the 60. Going to be interesting to say the least.

Doors and fenders present but not in the pictures.

I saw that creeper on an invention show. Still waiting for it to come out

I am new to the forum. Just acquired a fairly rusty 1981 bj40 diesel. Anyone recommend someone in the upstate to assess whether it is worth patching the body vs replacing in total?

Congratulations and welcome to the club Gville! We are having a "meeting" saturday at 5pm at the Sonic in Easley on hwy 123, if you can make it, it would be great to meet ya. Marshall aka Trollhole, will be there and is a cruiser goofball, I mean god. He is a guru when it comes to the addiction of land cruisers and can certainly give ya an idea. Nice score on the diesel, where did you find it?

Chuck

Thanks, Chuck. Appreciate the welcome. Unfortunately I will be out of town this weekend, but I would like to meet up sometime. I picked up the cruiser from my brother, who bought it from someone who had it imported from New Zealand. It is right hand drive. It runs, but I would be hesitant to drive it as far as Easley until I get it checked out further. It has been started/driven sporadically over the past couple of years. At this point I am just trying to decide if it is worth putting money towards restoring it or if I should sell it. I've always been a big fan of the body style.

Body swap! Get with Trollhole. His garage is in mauldin. His # should be listed on here but if not pm me and I will give it to you.

I am with Rick, do not sell it. Needing a new tub is nothing new. It may not even need an entire tub. The beauty of the 40 series is that most of the body is straight and flat and lends itself to sheet metal repair. Many of the common panels are available as well as floor pans etc.

First... Welcome.
Second... the BJ40 is trashed. I can tell from the pictures.
Please just bring it over to my house. I will make sure it is properly taken care of. ;)

I want to keep it and drive it - just want to make sure that I have a good base (frame and engine) and a good idea of what it is going to take to get it restored before I get started. Excited to get the ball rolling.

Sent you a message. Come by the shop anytime. I'll be more than happy to look it over and give you free advice. Just call or text me before you come just to make sure I'm not out on a parts run. I've got 7 40's at the shop right now.
