Nice work! Very cool to see y'all saving an interesting piece of NC history.

Marshall,

So, Hector MacLean (McLean) is your uncle? One of the great businessmen of NC! NC Business Hall of Fame -- Hector MacLean That would also make you Gov. Angus McLean's great grandson, right?

With the Cox light mural as a centerpiece, that building would sure make a great "Museum of NC Artists" - - probably add some new life to downtown Lumberton. (Could be a museum and a gallery where NC artists from across the state could also sell). BTW, Lumberton has a great Chamber of Commerce.

Great job on bringing it back to life -- all without a major fundraiser as required by NC State. Notice that your mural is the FULL light spectrum, which is spectacular!

Hopefully one of my trips home to Wilmington will coincide with your work on the building.

Yes he is my great uncle. And Angus was my great grandfather. We are looking into the idea of selling the mural or possibly donating it to a city were it would get the best exposure. Lots of things to think about. I personally don't think Lumberton is where it ought to stay. But my vote is very very small.

very cool!

last minute bob here... I have been seeing a new woman in a near by town, that is good,,,, I decided I want to get her something for Christmas but have no idea what is a good gift for someone you have been dating for only 5 weeks.... anybody got an idea I can execute tomorrow morning?

Wife says without knowing the woman maybe spa stuff like a massage somewhere. If she hikes a pair of boots, if she runs some running clothes. I nixed jewelry. A nice night out could be nice too. All depends.

I ditto this, pedicure/manicure also would work well, we think.

Here is a video while it was snowing when a little snowball fight broke out. I lobbed a ball about 40 yards away to try to hit my brother and it wacked my son in the head. The video starts right after he got hit. Good times!

Took a trip yesterday (Monday Dec 27th) to scout a few roads in the Linville Gorge area up towards Blowing Rock.

One road was posted - so we turned around.

From here we crossed 321 and headed down Waterfalls Rd. Here is a quick video looking back at the vehicles behind me.

Then we hopped on FS 4066.

Not many vehicles had been down FS 4066 before us and soon we were making fresh tracks in about 6-8" of snow.

We drove out along Wilson Creek Gorge.

Had a good time - was entertained a bit - but everything ended up well. I'll probably go back up about mid January if anyone wants to come along.

That snow looks way more fun than what we got here. We got just enough to make a rare Atlanta statistic.

Speaking of statistics...anyone ever play around with this site: http://www.wolframalpha.com/
Kinda cool.
