I am the one who has commissioned the 100/105 creation. It was a long thought out process to decide to do it. I wanted a 105 setup, but since they don't export them to the US, i decided to have one made. Since Slee had done one before, I had them do this one. I am planning on taking the rig to do the ACT2010 ( Alaska Cruiser Trek 2010). Since I am planning on driving the rig to alaska, why not do it in the comfort of a 100 Series. People have asked, why not just get an 80, well I have put a lot of money in to the 100 that I have, and I know it inside and out. And I did not want to start from scratch, so I took the leap and drove my 100 from Houston to Golden, and I hope to pick it up in March, 2010. I look at it this way, I may pay and arm and a leg for it, but I will have a very rare 100 in the US Cruiser Community.

Congratulations for taking the leap! There's more than one here that's just a little more than envious!

Ditto on the 105! With 1HD-FTE! But your's is the next best ;)

I will post pics that I can, however I am going to South Africa next week, so it might be quiet until I come back. We are waiting for the housing to come in. The diff should be here later in the week. Trying to sort out the steering box and the small items. I will get the guys in the shop to take pics and I will post when I am back.

While dreaming, why stop with the 1HD-FTE. Go for the 1VD-FTV (Latest 4.5 liter quad-cam turbo diesel on the 79 series)!

And here is... the ultimate 100 series (105 with a swapped 1VD-FTV)!

Sorry for twisting that arm of yours into doing this Psimsmd...you can't back out now! Maybe at the next creek run, it will have a bit more uhmph and keep up with our 80's :)

I take from the owner I will be ready in March? That's a long time!
As for the march Pickup date, that is when I have vacation so I can pick up the rig. According to Christo, it should take 4-6 weeks to complete once they start.

Some eye candy for now. Probably no picture updates from this until Jan when I am back from SA.

Housing and diff came in.

You're such a tease!

Is there a locker in that bad boy?

Slee - Are you headed to the Dakar rally?

Nice.

I got confused on the SA, South America, South Africa. Have fun!

Man... Sick build up... If I was going through all the work of a SAS i'd run 37's at least... Looks great so far! Any other developments on the SLEE IFS custom lift kit? Will it offer any more lift than the OME or just other suspension components in a SLEE kit?

3-4" lift kit for the ifs would be nice:D

Diamond axle, with True Hi-9 center section, ARB and 4.88's. Hybrid 80/105/100 outers to retain 5 lug setup with 100 brakes and if all works out right, the ABS as well.
35 spline?

As far as time, not much. Mounting the coil overs would be a little easier than doing the springs and shocks, but not by much.
and it doesn't look this is great machine is intended as a super flexy rock monster

I think the real disadvantage of coilovers would be that you are still limited by travel of the CVs. There would have to be some longer travel axle shafts/CVs made before you could really take advantage of the coilovers. I've looked into the coilover option quite a bit. I've even looked at trying to us the Tundra arms and just grafting their mounts onto the 100 frame. It is a lot of labor to get a little better ride but no lift or travel benefit unless you swap axles and CVs.
I dont think the cv is the limiting factor. im running a slee cv now and flex my 80 to the extreme. i have hammered on slee's cv relentlessly for a year now without any issues. plus this 100 is a highpinion so the driveshaft can give even more if need be
