It's is close there but there is zero contact at any point of articulation. It worked for me but will ultimately depend on your setup.

It is the width on the 285 vs the 295. i just cut everything off and ignore the scrubby sounds when I do rub on anything that is left :)

Ultimately, this is what ended up happening to my FJ fenders with 285/75/16 tires, which are the same shared fenders as the GX/Prado platform. I'm going to be installing Wheeler's super bumps on my GX build to offset this problem from stuffing tire in the wheelwell and avoid ripped fenders in the future.

That's actually a problem with the FJs in general. I think there's a TSB. Not to say that your tires, lift, wheeling, etc didn't contribute but it could have happened either way.

I think this is the first I've seen of this...how did you fracture the body by the UCA and engine also? Did it happen jumping it in the sand?

The overseas Prado guys were the first to report this kind of fender damage and the prado and FJs share the same inner fender. The 07-09 FJs had the weakest inner fenders and you could tell Toyota knew about it since the 2010 and up FJs came with a reinforcement brace on the inner fender making them stronger. The damage came from the wheels bottoming out and the top of the tire hitting the bottom of the inner fender causing stress cracks. I jumped my FJ once or twice but not a lot due to damage I've seen from other people, this is just from offroading/ bottoming out in dirt and sand.

This is a prado guy from France that took it upon himself to reinforce the fenders with an extra metal brace

Funny thing is my first fender bulge started even before I started going to Pismo sand dunes, it was just from trails here and there and desert whoops, here you can see where my tire rubbed on the fender at full stuff (I do have extended travel Icons):

I am going to have to look into mine more now especially with it being extended travel as well. I did get minimal rub but I couldn't produce it again stuffing the front.

I made the trip up to North Georgia to run one of the more technical trails here in GA. One of the sections is called the Frame Twister and its named accordingly. It was worth all the hours doing the body chop. I snapped a end link bracket clear in half so I removed the sway bar before continuing...any links to good extended brackets? The truck is officially broken in now and a great performer. I couldn't be happier.

Here is a picture from this weekend I took while trying to decide the best way to get the tree down without killing myself. Nothing really new to report. I have to swap out the NAPA CV axles I put in due to them being pure crap. Nothing like popping and clicking after a cv axle swap. I also re-torqued my valve cover bolts after the became so loose oil was dripping onto the manifolds one morning.

the valve cover bolts being loose, thats a first, did the tightening them up solve the issue?

Very common on the 4.7L. I had the same thing. They back out over time.

crud, now i'm gonna have to go check mine

It is very common on the 5VZ-FE as well. I thought it was something much worse how suddenly it caught my attention. Torquing all the bolts did fix the problem!

Glad to hear it!

I felt cooped up with this random Seattle weather we've been stuck with for the longest in Georgia so I loaded the truck for a day trip and went exploring. I chose to run Bell Mountain and make it before the amazing view was covered by the low clouds. I missed it by 20 minutes according to the Jeep guys at the top. Seeing their face as I made it up solo with far less effort than they had to use made the trip worth it. The one guy who left his JK at the trail head got grief from everyone.

I met up with some of the Atlanta 4runner Group members and hit a North GA trail yesterday for Fun Day Sunday. This is the hardest I have pushed the truck so far and it never let me down. It went exactly where I directed it and surprised even me with the capabilities of this setup.
