Thanks man! Hadn't thought of pvc tubes, was going to order rod holders. I like your idea better!
I made a set a few weeks ago. I didn’t take any pictures but it’s pretty easy to come up with something.
Just make sure you make more rod holders then you think you’ll need.
I’d say at least
X2 steel
X2 stainless
X3-4 for aluminum
X2 for “other”, silicon bronze, titanium, etc

@GLTHFJ60 Nice! Glad to see you're ready to start playing with it. The cart looks great.

I still need a lot of practice over here.

..and I need to make some of those PVC holders myself.

For brakes you need the 1/2” impact as well :D

90 ft/lb ya know. That one does 35. Youre welcome.

Well, the one I found in 1/2" only did 60 ft/lb - may have missed the bigger one? I was thinking if I need something bigger I would just use the Dewalt 1/2" impact.

Sure love the build quality on the Milwaukee stuff!

TIG rod holder! Thanks for the inspiration @S4Cruiser . Still need to paint them black.

Now get yourself the biggest bottle you can get your hands on. You’re going to need it with the higher gas flow.

Joined the world of melting metal this week. Thanks to whomever suggested Cyberweld. Got the welder plus a helmet, extra spool of wire, gloves using the recent sale for the cost of the unit alone at all of the other shops I looked at. A northern tool “missing parts” cart for next to free in addition and I at least look like I might know what I’m doing. Now to go make mistakes and learn.

does anyone have a strut spring compressor? I am considering a lift for the sequoia and would need one for the front struts.

You can buy them at Adv Auto, Autozone, then return them for all your money back.

Front springs are 700+ lbs for a Sequoia - tough to work with - sometime best to let someone just build up your coil-overs and then install yourself - commercial type - uses hydraulics, etc.

Would highly recommend Bilstein 6112 for a great value, but you do have to build up the coilover yourself or have someone do it.

When renting spring compressors, always rent them in pairs. One pair for the old springs and one pair for the new springs. It makes the work go by so much faster.

Hanging the rod holders didn't work out like I had hoped. They're just too top heavy with that mount that they flop all over. Build a mount to mirror the upper, mounted down low, to locate and support the rod holders. Much more better.

Well it stores tools so figure why not!

When I moved into my place I over ran the garage with storage because I was remodeling my house. With that being done it was time to refocus on the garage and get it organized.

Fortunately I had time yesterday and took advantage of the awesome weather to clean up!

Before and After (with a new project finding its temporary home!)
