^^^ nice! I've got a t3i and really like it. Been looking for a used Canon EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS lense. Mine lenses now are more kit lenses and it shows in pics.
The other DSLR in the pic is my T2i. I've got approximately 30,000 shots on it. I love the T2i but the 80D is in a whole new league.

I just bought an old-school Konica Minolta Maxxum 5D with a bunch of lenses off fleabay a few weeks ago. It's older technology, but had one back in the day and it was stolen, but I always loved the pics it turned out. I guess I just really liked the sensor. I had replaced it with a Sony Alpha because they bought KM camera division and that was supposed to be the next generation of the same body, but the images just weren't the same.

Great thing about the canons is most of the frames work with the lenses as they are similar sensors, etc. I'll probably try to get a used body of the better bodies soon, but want a 'nice' lens first.

Yeap. That's why I went A) Canon again and B) Crop sensor. My T2i came with an 18-55mm and a 75-300mm. The 18-55 wasn't bad but wasn't great either. The 75-300 was awful. I picked up a 50 1.4 and love that lens. The new kits lens for the 80D was the 18-135 IS USM. I also purchased a 55-250 IS STM. Both lens are light years better than my T2i lens. They focus fast and are dead silent. I will keep the 50 1.4 but will be selling the T2i and lens on Craigslist soon.

I have those exact same lenses and yes they are slow, loud and kinda suck! I didn't realize how bad they were until I saw some picks with the 17-55 lense. Night and day. I was blown away.

The Nano USM and STM are dead silent. It's a bit freaky having the camera focus but not hear the noise.

^^Industry has centered around Canon lens size and Nikor lenses, but only Nikon uses its lenses? Thought I read that somewhere. My Mom always had Nikons so was looking at one of the Costco cameras - - prolly a bad idea?

Recommendations on mid-level DSLR ($500-$800)? Would be Wife's business expense so some flexibility.

Our last SLR was in high school - Mom's old Nikon FM (I think) - almost every picture we did for our HS Year Book or HS Newspaper was shot on that :) We dated our SR year and shared that camera and the school Nikon camera. She was the head photog and I was the editor of the paper :)

I picked up my 80D with an 18-135mm new for $1124 shipped. I originally found an 80D on CL but the body only price was almost as expensive as new.

Holy cow, that turned out sweet

Very well done

I thought that some might not know this trick. I needed outside measurement on the exhaust flanges, some huge, long bladed calipers would do the trick.............
22.5" + 4.5" = 27"
