It's the end of the year and I actually have a little money left in the tool budget (helps when you raise the tool numbers in the annual budget at the beginning of the year) so I am buying a few things before the new year.

I do a bunch of wiring and am moving into using Bussmann RTMR Fuse blocks in all instances where a fuse block is required. The model shown holds 5 relays and 10 fuses. Of course they use Metri-pack terminal ends and I am stocked to the gills in Weather-Pack so I'll need a good supply of Metri-pack terminals and related parts.

They look like this, very clean and compact

My soldering iron is older than dirt and a POS, so I decided on this one.

I also needed a crimper for the larger gauges

I've never had a pair of automatic wire strippers that I liked but I am going to give these a shot.

Had one for several years now. Use it mostly to monitor accurate engine (water) temps and speed with oversize tires The MPG setting was to depressing to leave up on screen ;)
1.2mpg every time i left the drive at the old house (on 5 lane road, commit and go)

I did actually use MPG just to be aware of what affect 5mph less would have as well as just lifting your foot tonpoint where it maintains speed but doesnt use more than required.

Usually water temps, closed loop, speed, load. The last one i bounce around between diff settings.

Does the Torque app monitor the same as a scan gauge? I am looking to install Android Head Units in the 80 and LX and was looking at getting a bluetooth reader for the LX

I use an ultragauge and love it. I have mine stuck to the steering column. you have 8 pages of settings you can tailor to what you want to see. Just the digital temp gauge is worth the money. The only downside, and its more on toyota vs ultragauge, no AT temp reading, because there isnt a code coming from the tranny.

Do a lot of research on bt readers, some are quite finicky to get paired up, and stay paired up.

Spent a little $ that Santa left.....the rest went towards another 62!

He was highlighting the "MPG LOL" sticker.

Nooooo, Jim is correct, someone wanted to track mileage on their 80

Knew it was coming, just didn't know who they were selling to. Black and Decker though? Man, time to start avoiding craftsman.

I totally agree the only thing I would buy from them is Dewalt Power Tools everything else is pretty much crap. I know quite a few guys who work for them in Charlotte and they will only use Dewalt stuff. I probably will avoid Craftsman going forward it used to be my go to hand tool I ve been pretty happy with my Kobalt lately though.

I am a big Dewalt fan and I didn't know they were owned by Black and Decker. Maybe I won't avoid Craftsman.

Is it just me or is Sears selling the only valuable part of the company?
Stanley Black and Decker

The problem is that they are like most companies in the tool world they will buy the name and shift manufacturing to one of their factories most likely to cut costs down which in the end might lead to a lesser quality of product. Sherwin Williams does this alot with paint when they buy out a company they keep the name but will put one of their products in the can that is similar.

Yep, a matter of time but still a bummer. Mostly I hope that in 50 years there is still a place for my kid to take his inherited craftsman tools to get them warrantied.
