Not to take anything away from them, but #303 was already broke and stuck when we crashed! :D

We hit them a little bit, possibly getting them stuck more and they STILL helped us! Great Folks!

Looks like Gale Pike is the driver of record, i am trying to contact him now.

The fact that they were broken and stuck when they were hit gives them more credibility. I don't know if they had quit the race by then or would have continued to work on their own rig, it doesn't matter. They helped out and for that they deserve a big thank you as does everyone else involved with the recovery of the drivers and providing medical help. It's just awesome to hear about everyone coming together like they did. I hope Sal Fish can take some consolation in your circumstances considering the other tragic events that took place this year.

Maybe this will help.

For the record, Gale Pike is a long time desert racer. As evidenced by the pic of the EB. He's been racing in te desert on both sides of the border since that EB was new.
If it looks familiar to you, it's because you've stopped in Baker, CA and seen it sitting in a restaurant's parking lot.

Kevin,

Sorry to hear you guys DNF'd, but DAMN glad you are all ok. Yesterday was a little unerving hearing all of the reports and it was hard to read between the lines.

I am sure you all learned a great deal and will apply lessons learned to the next effort.

As far as your truck - it may show up like the rig in my Avatar ;).

Tim

Kevin:

Very sorry to hear the truck was a total loss. I know you worked very hard getting all the sponsors together and then building the truck. Most importantly you guys built a very safe race truck. This story could have ended much much worse. Never forget that all of the hard work you guys poured into that Landcruiser most likely saved your friends lives.

OK, but he THREW UP for you, and he hadn't even been drinking! That's gotta count for something!

Was good to hear your voice today brother. Sorry again about the course of events but glad all are here to tell the tale. That is the incredible thing about off road racers and off roaders in general is you are family. You always look after family. I remember seeing #303 go by near the goat trail. I thought it was pretty cool they were running a straight axle rig, like you guys. They turned out to be far cooler than I ever could have imagined.:beer: I for one would like to buy them a beer. :D

I remember seeing him come by too! He passed us around RM40 or so HAULING ASS, the truck sounded AWESOME!

Good people for sure!

Uber WOW!!!! The truck is just a truck. Lives are precious and just glad you are all OK. Kudos to you for living a dream Kevin. The offroading community really shines when you hear about helping out your fellow man like this. Thanks to 303 for helping out our friends!

I too am glad everyone is O.K.! Fantastic adventure, fantastic story. Hats off to 303 and everybody who helped you all return safely!!

With that said, do you think there is anything salvageable on the truck? Do we need a salvage team to head down before it is stripped?

I would be willing to head down if you think there is any chance there are recoverable parts left.
