That's going to look clean. It's all uphill from here on out. Looking foreword to seeing how it all turns out!

Thanks MJ , hey could you post a picture of your rear shock mounts where you mounted them to the axle housing. Did you ever get around to adding a traction bar to the rear? Got some axle tabs cut and waiting on some DOM tubing to come in for my traction bar. Got a good idea on how I want to make it. Also could you post up a picture of your drivers side sock. Just want to see how close yours is to the power steering unit. Thanks for the good words. I feels like I have finally accomplished something since doing the C&T.

I have not done the traction bar yet, I'm waiting until I get my FF rear axle. Here are some pics of the shock mount and driver side
Shock hoop. Hope this helps.

Your welcome, how much left do you have on the SOA?

MJ

I have to mount the lower shock tabs on the rear axle. Got brackets for the traction bar and DOM tubing for it will be in tomorrow. The front needs the steering stops welded back on, along with the knuckle gussets. Then the axles will be taken off the truck and everything finish welded. Powder coat and then rebuild both axles. Got a long way to go for the whole project, but its getting there.

Thanks Spudman, I need to check in on your build and see how its coming along. Are you still able to get hands on an inclinometer/altimeter? If so, what's the price with shipping to the US (area code 37938)?

Nah mate, haven't come across a good one yet, but I'm always looking

Thanks Spudman, let me know if you ever come across a good working one.

Hey Bluehawk when you come up with a trackbar design could you post up some pictures of it? I have all the materials, just waiting on a new rear axle and then I am going to mount it up.

Mj, working on the track bar now. I have the axle end all cut out and ready for the axle. I am getting some 1.5 DOM tubing notched right now and should have it ready for mock up by next week.

Got the rear disc brake conversion all mocked up. Good news is that a 15" rim will clear every thing.

For anybody out there running a disc brake conversion on your 60, what type of brake booster are you running? Will the stock one work or do you have to go with a twin type of set up or a proportioning valve? I may not have enough room for the stock booster due to the 4BD1t motor taking up some room with the turbo in that area. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You can always go with a Hydro-boost system. many have used them from Chevy Astro vans.

They are small and have good feel, or so they say? Flcruiser and few other here on mud have them in their 60's with Isuzu's.

I bought one for my swap at pick-a-part for $40, but sold it after I did not need to use it on my swap.

Looks good!

I've got hydroboost and like it a lot. Hydroboost is easy and cheap!

Do the 4BD1Ts have a factory vacuum pump? The 4BT does not, so it was natural for me to go with hydroboost as opposed to using my factory vacuum booster.

Thanks Doug, I will look into this when the time comes to start the finish plumbing on this beast.

Johnny, from what I can remember I think that they do. I haven't done much to the motor in awhile and I think that the factory alt has a connection on the back for vacuum pump. I'll check later on this afternoon.

The Isuzu has a vac pump stock on the the rear of the alt. It works well with the 60 brake booster, as the pump has more vacuum and it is steady, so the brakes work better than stock with the 2f.

But, if you have no room for the booster, hydro-boost is a good way to go.
