Will a stock mini be ok on that trail?

Will a stock mini be ok on that trail?

The nice thing about Payett draw is there is an access road on one side nearly the whole trail, so you can jump on and off the trail if it gets more challenging than you want to attempt with a stock truck. All in all, you should be able to make most of it stock with no problems that a good spotter can't help.

Time is flying by! I still have a laundry list of things to get accomplished on the 40 before heading up on friday....
New alternator, install seats, put transmission cover on, install proportioning valve & bleed brakes, Swap spare tire on rim, etc., etc.

It looks like there will be no sleep on Thursday night!

Another option would be park your rig and ride with others, I will have seats available. There was a pretty big flood up there a couple of weeks ago, so everything may have changed?

Things have changed a bit, but it's not too bad. Some of the ledges are a bit higher, and Shafteater is quite a bit different. There are still ways around most stuff. Have fun for me. :D

Hey Tools R Us, riding with you sounds good. I really don't want to tear my rig up before I have a chance to build it up. Cool, see you guys there.

Things have changed indeed, there was a stock mini up there last Saturday but he beat the crap out of it to get it to the big waterfall, took all the bypasses too, basically painted teh whole undercarage the samen color as the rocks.:D Alot of parts are easier than before but none of it is "groomed" anymore. There's also alot of new growth in there as well.

Have fun

Your welcome to ride with me, but riding opens up more possibilities; The Trail Teams will be there, they will let you drive, it's always fun to beat Toyota's rigs!:D Also riding in several rigs will give you an idea of how different rigs/setups/drivers handle obstacles. At Cruise Moab there are always riders on the harder trails, most switch from truck to truck, sometimes riding in several rigs over one obstacle. They always look like their having a blast, but most everybody is having big fun in Moab!:D

We need to be watching the weather guys. The remnants of hurricane Dean are heading to AZ and this area has a big flash flood risk. We need to make sure we have an escape route if the water starts rising. It might also be a good idea to have an alternate trail in case Payette is impassable.

Bring your rain gear, but it's not looking too bad, on a couple of sites;

Saturday (24 hours): Slight chance of a thunderstorm. Highs in the mid 80s and lows in the mid 60s.

Saturday (24 hours): Isolated T-Storms, High 84°F Low 64°F

don't tell me this, I got the bikini top on

that Payette Draw seems to attract rain when my cruiser is on it :frown:

so, will there be a meeting spot post? I got no clue where to go ;p

Not to worry, your rig is already rain proven on Payette, but obliviously by your more robust half!:princess::D

Tools - are you driving up Saturday morning?

Yes, way too early for you!:flipoff2:

Do you want to meet the group at the gas station and lead to the trail head?
