Me and my son are going up friday night, as well as a buddy who will be riding along and his boy - since we will be towing the 40 up for a "shakedown run" I need to ge there early and camp....maybe saturday night as well.

Howdy! I did research the area since I have not been up there before. Looks like lots of room to camp right at the mouth of Pyeatte. Is that the plan?? John

Me and the family are planning on going up friday morning and camping out.

Sweet Alvin it will be good times...:beer:better than the rain experience last time  You bringing the Makers Mark again this year?:grinpimp:

John - the area is covered with great camping spots, from off the trail areas like Baggin, spike (blue cruiser?) and I camped at last time, to places where you could tow a camper/ trailer, it's all there.

I have camped up there twice since last years club run to payette, there is a couple of places in mind right at the first obstacle in the picture (on the left out of frame) that Kevin is on that could accomodate a large camping group if need be. Otherwise, a mile down the service road there are some quieter areas as well. (more secluded like in the second pic.)

I'll be lookin fer ya, with the Makers Mark in hand.

Having not been up there can someone post directions or if there's a link...
Also include directions to possible camping spots.

I'm a New Yorker by birth so cross streets or the subway line would help a bunch! HAHA

Well to get there take the old bridge road without a name to the right for aways, untill you come to where the sawmill used to be, then turn around and go back a half mile and take a left - right?
Then go on a spell untill that road where jimmy wrecked his truck last year, and you can almost see it from there....

JK - There will probabaly be no directions posted due to the location usage being kept to a minumum (public forum). Probably just a meeting spot here in the valley, adn a second in paysonn itself.

What time are you heading up, we are planning on leaving Scottsdale a little early from work and headin out say around three on friday, wana convoy up?

Are you comin in from the Houston-Mesa or from the Control road side?

Mine will be on the hook too, not quite ready to drive that far. :D

On waiting list, perhaps?

After finally selling the shiny FJ60 to pay for the transmission and front end overhaul of the diesel HJ, I'm ready to celebrate by taking the diesel out to try the new driveline repairs... They say it will be finished by the 10th, in plenty of time for the Trail Team event...

So, if there's any room left at "the party", count us in...

Otherwise, put us on the "waiting list", if any space opens up...

We'd probably go up Friday and camp, then meet up in Payson.

Let us know...

Im in for camping Friday night. Do we have a designated camp spot yet? Who will be going up Friday morning? Payeatte Draw is at about 5400' elevation temps that weekend should be 85* day and 60* night time.:)

We'll be heading up from Tucson friday morning and looking for a decent camp spot probably near the trailhead.

Was just up there, the wash is totally re-arranged from the floods. the concrete support on the 198 road is a 8' drop off now. alot of it is flatter some is alot tougher, the waterfall at the end is still there, tough and full of water as well as pucker factor.......

Still hoping

Vern @ Toy Specialists is still waiting on some parts for my diesel, but he's pretty sure it will be done by next week, so I can do a couple days of shakedown before taking it out on the trail.

So, what was the final number of vehicles you all decided is not too much for the adventure? And who is on the list to go?

We'd still like to go, if there's a space available...

:D

Tom

come on up... we'll figure out the logistics once everyone is there.
