Before I got to know you guys, I used to shrug my shoulders at other Landcruisers... I viewed really only viewed 40 series & 55s as the only Landcruisers... As I’ve got to know you all, I’ve come to realize it’s not the year or the model that makes us Cruiserheads & the trucks Landcruisers.

I’m better for it. The same blood runs all our trucks veins, and we all spill the same kind of blood when we build them. I don’t make it out often enough, but I’m sure glad to be a part of this community.

All that said... I don’t see myself in an 80 or 100 any time soon. 😜

I’ll tell you this, that 70 series and that 40 are both equals as far as off-road.
My 60 is good, but bigger and heavier isn’t better! I like what you said cause I agree.
I‘ve even come up a cure for my dislike of FJ Cruisers, - Cut the top off with a torch!
Then I’ll like the look of it. Anyone does that let me know.

So the 70 series was a replacement for the 40 series, and the 80 series is a replacement for the 60 (which replaced 55). If you crawl under them all, you find the trucks only get better as the years go by. 70 and 80 frames are full boxed and stronger than the earlier ones. 70 and 80 are less rust prone and have thicker panels. 80 has bigger birfs. 70 and 80 have more hp. 70 and 80 have stronger axle housings. Etc. etc.

100 series are great trucks too. Basically they're 80 series with IFS front and better engines. 100's could be purchase with solid front axle in some markets too. 1HDFTE in the 100 series is one of the best Toyota diesels ever produced.

You can't go that wrong with any landcruiser. That said, I do prefer trucks with a solid front axle and less electronics. And for sure nothing replaces the iconic look of the 40 and 55 series.

Sidney

looks very clean:D

Spare tire mounted finally. Thanks @seapotato for the 1.25" spacer. Flipping the 70 spare tire mount and using a spacer works perfectly for mounting a 35x12.5R15 it appears. Left door *just* clears the tire when I open it. Tire *just* clears the bumper. And tire actually clears the rear door window wiper enough that I can use it.
