I guess if you've had enough to drink (or too much), anything can look good! The down-swoop/up-swoop (depending on how you look at it) line on the front fender is a little off; there seems to be one where the line starts at the top of side light and flows back, a more natural look...
Yep, it's that swoopy line that looks bad. Almost ok with it going to the top of the side light.
I wouldn't do it. Something off-putting and anachronistic about it.

Looks great up there...

It is truly nasty here. The highway is covered in rutted ice that's an inch or more thick. I've driven my 40 through almost every storm that has hit the island since '91, and the conditions are some of the worst I've seen. At least the deep snow in '96 was easier to keep going in a straight line and there were almost no other vehicles on the road. Today every one was flying down the road. I'm not at all surprised to be hearing sirens all evening.

Yeah the rutted ice under the snow thing is a treat. Ladysmith to chemainus bridge is always the worst. Guess I'll find out in a half hour 🤮

Funny that section seems lucky to see a plow, then you hit the intersection by the red Rooster and from there south the roads are manicured by comparison. Apparently Cowichan has a snow budget and Ladysmith doesn't 😞

I'd say we got somewhere in the 12-18" range at a guess.

Gross.

Yep, same as ever. Airport to red rooster, single track ice snow, hit that intersection and it's like a different country.

Looks terrible. I’m glad you made it through safely.

I’m only seeing 4-5” accumulated here in Saanich… which exceeds the 2” limit Greater Victoria has to shut down the city. Schools, Uvic, Camosun are all shut down. Probably a lot of businesses will either be closed or running with minimal staff.

Based on everything in Saanich being covered in ice, and the only plow I saw yesterday being stuck, it makes sense. Very few people down here have good snow tires, and then we have to be worried about being hit by cars with bald all seasons.

As far as I’m concerned, deeper is better. A few inches over solid ice just makes it a 💩 show. 2-3’ will keep the dummies in their driveways.

If I feel energetic I’ll check why my rear heater fan wasn’t working. I’m guessing ground issue. My wiring connections have a few wraps of electrical tape on them, so they can’t be the source of the issues ;).

That statement reminds me of ‘96 somewhat. Early Sunday morning the large white flakes were coming down and being blown around so much that I couldn’t see more than 10-15 feet in front of the 40. The plow trail on the highway was obscured by snow drifts. So trying to stay on the road became a guessing game. :D

Main road isn’t to bad now, but the plows haven’t been here yet.
