You’re right in not wanting to mix different manufacturers oils. Sometimes the additive packs don’t mix well. That’s a good habit to keep.

You can always use what you have and see if you want to keep going for your next tcase service. I am going to switch from the canned leprechaun fart 75w Toyota stuff on my next change. The diffs will now get HPL switching from amsoil severe gear.
I’m not familiar with HPL but I’ll check them out, I use Amsoil for the engine.

I think I read somewhere about ARB recommending particular gear oil for their air lockers as well… I need to go down this rabbit hole I guess.

Get ready for a deep dive. Amsoil is good. I think HPL is a weeeee bit better (marginal cost is worth it imo).

Their website isn’t great, but their products are top tier. I’d rather them have an antiquated website and amazing product than vice versa.

Another one from Fred Anderson showed up in my inbox just now.

My local dealer has joined the autoparts.xxxxxtoyota.com family of parts sites, so I was hoping they were going to start taking part in these sales. But I guess not. It's better than nothing, but certainly not as good as Serra/Fred Anderson.

Also, I checked Serra, and of course they have the sale going as well.

thank you for posting usable links instead of screen caps ;)

Thank you for admitting that you lack the competency and/or work ethic to type "Fred Anderson Toyoya" into a Google search, which would have required less effort than the reply to this thread... 👍

I got an email from FA indicating a 25% off sale on parts from now to 4/15. Having had a prior bad experience with a similar email from them, I am not going to take part but wanted to pass along this info for any who do. Sent from ynewton@anderson-auto.net

What happened?? I have had great luck with them. My order from Decatur was endlessly delayed.
I don't to rehash completely, but a similar setup to this email. Bait and switch though on percentage discount. It was a small sum for sure, but to me what separates good from bad companies is how they handle mistakes. FA did not honor their printed sale pricing. I had great experiences prior to that point.

I have since used other dealers. YMMV.

Got an email from Fred Anderson that they're running a 25% off sale. I need to pick up a radiator for my 2013 before any potential price increases on imported parts. I've only ever ordered a radiator from Serra.

Can any of the guys in this thread that made this purchase chime in on Fred Anderson's radiator packaging?

Perfect. I'm at 112k and got the infamous radiator crack. Just missed the other 25% off sale, so I did the soldering iron plastic melt fix, sanded the area, and added a thick layer of plastic jb weld on top. Is holding great so far with no leaking.

I was waiting for the next 25% off sale to change it, hoses, water pump, and clutch fan.

I cannot vouch for the radiator packing but FA sent me new car door glass. It went cross country in a huge arse box and arrived without any issue. I also just receive new headlight for my Tacoma. Similar packing. I would have no hesitation with a radiator.

I got a radiator from Fred Anderson and i'd just give it an okay on packaging. I think Serra is better at packaging.

Just got bumper crash bars and a bunch of snack parts from Serra and it was excellently packed!

Took a few days for the payment to process and a while for it to arrive, but everything was perfect.

Did they at least double box it?

I ordered mine about a year ago, so i can't 100% remember. I can check the box to see if it has a shipping label i guess, I know i had it stored in the Toyota box. That would let me know for sure. I did use the radiator, so I didn't really have a problem. I do remember the box was beat up more than i wanted though.

Serra has the same sale going on, not sure why you would risk using Fred Anderson.

edit: I want to add, that I'm not saying Fred Anderson isn't good, I'm just saying that having ordered from both semi recently. Serra has has improved their processes greatly since the early days of these sales. I'm sure that was a trial by fire type requirement for them after the first couple real big sales.

I didn't know Serra was doing the same thing right now. I know they just wrapped up a 25% off sale back in March,

My bad. I had updated one of these threads, but now that I think about it, it wasn't in the 200 forum. Keep in mind, that pretty much all the dealers that take part in this sale are all doing them at the same time. If one is doing it, most likely they are all doing it.
