09110-36030 TEQ and Toyota Motor - 3 ton rating

Not a Land Cruiser jack, standard equipment on Toyota Coaster minibus, Toyota Dyna and Toyota ToyoAce trucks. Rated 3 metric tons (6614 lbs.). Two stage column, no manual extension, 7" lowered, 15" raised. Has Made In Japan on the bottom, with the JIS mark and date of manufacture code stamped on the top of the collar. Different neck ornamentation than the Land Cruiser jacks.

An unusual feature of the TEQ jack is that the TEQ mark and part number are located on the side opposite of their typical location.

TEQ - Date code 0K - November 1970. More pictures here.

The brown color seems to be the normal color used for the later style jacks. This is the one that came with my FJ40 (Sept 1980) and the blue paint appears to be original:

Amazing! I am new to this forum and already appreciate all the input found here. Have a jack w/ no upper screw. .7 ton marked. Hoping it is similar to the original that came with my newly acquired '68 FJ40. I'm not a purist so if it's close I will be ok w/ that. Couldn't bring myself t pay for a rod set so fabricated them out of wood. They won't work but will do for showing I guess.

Gonzalo. Wow. Great looking FJ. Not sure about the jack but I am sure you will have responses that answer the question. There are so many versions. Here is the one I bought to go with my '68 FJ40. Not sure that it is the "correct" one but it will do for now.

Picked up this handle at the Thrift Store, thought it might be for a Toyota, is it? It's 12" long with a 7/16" square center hole.
Thanks, David

Hi mate - please note that isn't a Landcruiser jack, it's from a smaller Toyota vehicle of the period.

Note the load rating is 0.7 ton, whereas all LC jacks are marked 2 ton. Great to display in the vehicle but I wouldn't use it.

Cheers

@wscbill Thanks for your great post. Would it be possible for you to update the links to the PDF reference you mention in your initial post here. The drop box links are giving 404 error.

This is a great thread, has anyone heard from @wscbill ?

Yeah I always wondered what happened there. I went back and looked at recent threads where he posted and didn't see anything that stood out.

He has been gone a while. Must have been pretty upset about something because he deleted most his posts on mud when he left.
Hey John. Well that is a shame, he was a real asset on here. His knowledge base was pretty impressive. Mud never fails to amaze me as to how many intelligent folks we have that are willing to share. You sir are one of our assets as well, you know so much! I have learned loads over the years reading your posts. I guess I am a purist at heart and think of the “real” Landcruisers as those with solid front axles. I guess I always will although I purchased a 5th gen 4Runner last year. Great vehicle but driving the 40’s is still pretty special to me.

I concur with everything you said. It’s a shame Sarge Is not participating in the community any longer. Thanks @Living in the Past for the heads up on his status.

Back to tech...Is this how tall the 09111-60050 jack is supposed to be? It’s really not tall enough if so. All the diagrams show another piece but I don’t see another extension coming out.

It should expand like this.
