Hail Ye All from Overland Park, Kansas!
My name is Kirk Waldon and I am not a member yet, but would like to be. If I may, I'll introduce myself here as it seems that is the point of this sticky. But before I go there, I'd really like to know if non-members can participate in the annual event in Harrisonville on 2/21/10 as a way to make introductions?
Okay, I'm 49, married to Deb, son Cole is 9, daughter Kennedy is 6 occupation is Managing Owner of Guardian Medical Logistics. I was the original owner of a white '94 LC until November when I sold it with 228,000 on the odometer. I could have had any number of brand new vehicles, but I instead searched and purchased a single owner lifetime Austin, TX '97 LX 450 with front/rear lockers, black on tan with 118,000 miles, never wrecked.
Since the purchase on 11/28/09, I have walked through the mechanicals on a DIY basis and then went to the body shop. The former owner didn't use the interior (he was 68) but he successfully tarnishyed nearly every body panel with either minor scratches or just plain ordinary chipping, door dents and dings. He's not as good as he thought he was at it because he did fail to obliterate the roof - but that's all he missed scratching! So I had the body shop either paint and/or wet sand and buff the entire vehicle along with rust proofing every interior panel with 3M rustproofing as well as undercoating the entire rig.
Yes, she is now a my garage queen and she is like a black mirror! I had all of the two tone blacked out so she is black everywhere except the grill which we left factory gray. She was originally black/silver exterior as all the LExus badged rigs were. I'd love to bring her to the meeting on the 20th if the weather permits (remember garage queen!!) but if not, I'll drive the '06 F250 PSD or the wifes G35 Infiniti sedan - of course thats if non members can participate.
I ride a KTM EXC 525, my son rides a Raptor ATV and a Yamaha TT110. The wife occasionally boards her Honda Recon ES 250 ATV and the daughter is probably not going to abandon her Barbie's to join me and Cole for some time! The toyhauler is a 28' Pace American Racing carhauler converted with a generator, refrigerator and C-Tech Nascar style cabinets with diamond plate aluminum flooring, all of which was a DIY conversion.
That's about it - I am a TLCA Member, too. My personal email is
