Ya. Would never have fixed it on side of I91. Had to cut off bolts, some of them were seized.
Buggy 2.0 is almost done
Finishing my custom gauge cluster for the fzj40
All gauges work like they should. Gotta check speedometer still .
Everything works, speedometer and all gauges, had to splice through some wires for temp gauge to work but its all set, even got the lights to work.

FZJ40 with a 2uz or 3ur is my dream rig but for now I’m in the middle of a 2uz swap on my 80. Maybe if the body gets ruined I’ll slap a 40 body on it,

Does fzj 80 transmission bolts right up to 4.7 v8?
No. You need to use the donor trans depending on what donor vehicle you use. The 80 Series transfer case will bolt up to the 4 speed versions, but I don't think you can use it with the 5 speed version. Most of the 2UZ trans are a version of the A340. The A700 4 Speed Version from the landcruiser will allow you to use the 80 series TC. My donor was an 02 Sequoia so I my Trans is the A340, I then used and Advanced Adapter to mate it to an Atlas 4 speed.
Have to use a transmission out of a LC/LX for the transfer case to bolt up. Different output shaft and adapter housing than the other variants. I’m running a later 2uz with VVTi and the A750 5 speed. The VVT engine puts out a little more power and the A750 has a lower first gear, 3.52, over the A343, 2.80. Figured while it was out I’d reseal it since it was going to be half apart for the timing belt anyways.
Threw a little free hand paint on a 22re valve cover for some wall art. Woods are starting to dry up!
