the dash wood trim, may I ask for a part number? I once found it on a lexus dealer website, complete with different wood types, but now i can't find it. I'm thinking of investing in $675 to just replace mine.

Sorry, part number is not shown in the FSM I was referencing...

Double map is a feature. Welcome to the year 2000.

I meant the typo!

But to your point, this nav system is useless. It’s like one step up from printing out hardcopies of directions from MapQuest. I wonder if the VLine unit from GROM Audio improves usability much…

Great time this past weekend in Anza Borrego. Nothing too hard core, just some nice easy trails with the kids. We took Jasper Canyon Trail to Grapevine Canyon Road which was a first for us. Jasper had some cool terrain and switchbacks, and what looked like interesting primitive camp sites.

Question for anyone who tows with their LX - where is the wiring harness receiver for the trailer? I looked for a while yesterday when I was towing a small boat, but never found it. I did search a bit but this thread was inconclusive. I assume it would be wired from the factory?

Fun was had regardless...

If you were laying on your back (feet towards the engine) staring at the spare tire...it's at about the 2 O'clock position just off the tire mounted to the frame. Or maybe easier to envision...passenger side near the spare tire behind the bumper. You have an LX, so there is a decent chance it was never installed on delivery when purchased new. Apparently that's pretty common. If it's missing you might check the jack compartment and cross your fingers that it's shoved in there.

Here's a good thread. Google search of MUD to the rescure.

And here:

Note most of these threads are for LC. My LX looks the same so i assume the parts are all the same, but you might double check.

Awesome, thank you! I'll confirm when I get home. Appreciate the help.

Bummer, looks like mine's not installed. I checked in the jack compartment but no luck. Dang! Thanks for the help troubleshooting!

I've looked for the OE parts but replacements seem to be very expensive. At this time I'm leaning toward something like this (see post #4).
wood dash trim - ClubLexus - Lexus Forum Discussion
Did you find and fix the wood dash trim?
I found OEM part on carmaka website. It gets shipped from Dubai and its 50% less expensive than OEM.
I fixed this, can share more if you want on how to get this fixed.

Hey, thanks for checking. I removed the laminate and painted it- it’s passable, but not as nice as OEM of course.

What was your final cost once shipped?

Car Spare Parts & Auto Accessories - https://carmarka.com/ , I paid $350 for the OEM part.
the website is funny though, I initially paid the money as advertised for part on the website. their support team reached out saying the part is little more expensive (35$ more) and asked me to pay if I want it or they will cancel.
I was not sure if it was legit but paid anyway and got the part in 2 weeks.
Make sure the part is for left hand driving , not for right hand driving.
The part is original and looked exactly the same wood garnish.

You need to remove the AC vent close to radio and side panel on side of dash close the the door to replace it. Can share pics if interested.

More fun this weekend. Sheep Canyon Campground outside of Borrego Springs made for a great weekend. It may be time for a RTT as ground tenting is getting a little old. Grass is always greener I suppose.

Was passed by an awesome RHD turbodiesel 70 along the way.

Also my kid found a little little compartment in the dash that I never knew existed. Score!

55476-60060 this is the part number. I bought one from carmarka . Its OEM ships from dubai and is half the price of what the dealer sells in US.

Great to see you get a GFC Superlite!

Is that trailer an off-road play thing?

Curiously, I bought another Superlite canvas, as I may be building a new off-road trailer and integrating that into the pop-up roof.
