Hey guys. I am back, sorta. As many of you know I sold my 94' LC a few months back. I bought a Tundra, and have enjoyed it. I love the quickness, modern amenities, and so on. But as many predicted (John), I miss the LC. Most of all I miss having just anything that I can go ride the trails with.

I am going to put my Tundra up for sale, and see what happens. ;) I have been pondering what to buy if it does sell. I have considered a 100, 80, new 4-Runner, older 4-Runner, and so on. I am looking for the best compromise. I think I might have kept my 80 if i hadn't built it out so much. I was thinking if i just got sliders and 33"s I might be just fine, I have even considered being open to an unlocked 80. I had a chuckle to see that Dave had returned to his 80 and made some of the same comments about running 33" tires, lol.

My last trail ride with a few of you was etched into my brain and it's haunting me all the time. I still get Toyota Trails and 4WD Toyota Owner, ouch!!!

For those of you who returned to an 80 after selling one, any suggestions or after thoughts once returning (good and bad). If anyone would like to comment on my future rig options I would love to hear some feedback.

And a shout out to Eric, who lead the way on my last ride (and waited for my late ass in Santa Ysabel, sorry again) a very nice guy, Mark who always leaves his rig parked around SD for me to be reminded, and Steve who I also had the pleasure of meeting on my last run, also a nice guy! Cant leave out John at SDTrux, who is a great guy to care for your LC and couldn't be more cool.

How about.. get lucky and buy your old one back? Oh wait that almost never happens :D

HAHAHAHA (Point Finger & Laugh) This is my response from now on to all of you who come crawling back! Oh wait you can't CRAWL with a Tundra! :flipoff2:

OK seriously enough at your expense. IMHO, you will be just about in the same boat as you are now with a Hundred Series, maybe more capable & maybe more bulky.

If you don't need the room, just you and Fido, then I would consider a 4Runner. But you know in your heart you will end up back in an 80. :D

Did the guy call you or what? Thats crazy... Just happens that you want it back and he/she was over it?

Congrats on the Tundra. I had that same truck and loved it, It would go a lot of places too, Not all the places you can go in a 80.

IMO the 100 is Waaaaaaaaayyyyyyy better off road then the Tundra. It is the same size as an 80 (with in 1" + or -. The width is the same I belive) The bolkyness is an illussion. I think It also has a rear locker option. IMO. the ONLY downside to the 100 is the IFS.

I got super lucky, had to sell the SMB... guy never even used the 80 or trailer and i bought them back same way i sold them. Uber luck.. please dont try this at home ;p

Yeah the only problem with that Runner would be Zach's quote here: "I think I might have kept my 80 if i hadn't built it out so much"
So he would be back in that sinking boat of a kick A$$ ride must sell.

:D:D  ;) Stop stop.........jeez dude you got me pretty wired. OK now would you go say a prayer that the Tundra sells please??

GOOD! I am going to need it from all who are willing. When it comes to money related items, it's not easy. I have been out of graduate school for about 2 months now and have not been able to find employment. I feel the crunch just like almost everyone has.

UPDATE

I have already had 3 calls and one appt today and one tomorrow to test drive and look at the Tundy. Keep the prayers coming to Saint Landcruiser...:D

I am wanting the 100 series more at the moment, but still open to an 80. I am not seeing many locked low miles trucks right now. One minor criteria is to buy a truck that could make it up coyote canyon without any mods, as I am broke at this time.:)

You already have one.

I have been up Coyote Canyon a few times in my 2003 Tundra, before they blasted it. From what I hear it is much easier now.

I have seen an access cab, but a double cab up there would be hectic:)

That's true. Mine was an access cab.

Handsome Tundra! Looks like you have the same tires on that truck as your 80 series.

As I have been searching I have found an 80 or two w/ lockers but miles are higher 160+, I have found several clean ones w/out lockers. Miles are worth something to me too. If I bought an 80 I probably would not need a loan.

Forgive me for the play by play but my significant other doesn't want to hear this stuff anymore. I apologize if my thinking out-loud starts to drive you all crazy too.:hillbilly: Its helps to have somewhere to chat about it:)

I hope you are checking the classifieds here on MUD, you may not believe this but there are some people who do crazy stuff like sell a totally PM'ed and built 80 on here! I mean, just crazy people!

Man, these jabs are just too easy.. But seriously, if I were ever in the market again I would probably buy one from a MUD member rather than an un-known stocker.

Dude people do strange things eh! SheesH! :p I deserve it...

I would not want mine back actually, unless I had the money to unbuild it. I think WHEN I do have some money for mods for the ext one it might be just as simple as 33" sliders and a lift.
