What AC unit are you using and are you keeping your heater. My wife is very cold natured and I must keep my heater but she also hates hot weather so I am thinking about an AC unit. In all fairness she spent her whole career in the operating rooms where the temp is usually cooler than 70 degrees.

It's a kit from Old Air Products. It has a heater core integrated into the evaporator unit so you would not lose heat at all. This one also has electronic servos for vent/defrost and the heater valve.

Tonight, I was able to mount the evaporator. ...Definitely not the easiest part of this process. I had to move it farther to the passenger side than I anticipated but the defrost servo was interfering with the E brake handle and the front of the box was hitting the shifter in fourth gear.

I will likely heat and bend the transfer lever back another inch or so but overall, I'm happy.

It was a super tight fit, but everything is in place now.



All four dash vents are connected and I just need to hook up the battery to see how the blower connections work. One part of this process I put a lot of time into was figuring out what to do with the 2 inch hole left in my dash from the old tachometer. The Dakota Digital HDX cluster has a tach integrated into the panel, so I did not need the old set up. Ultimately, I decided to use the 2 inch hole for a circular air conditioning vent.

Also, I made myself a heater delete plate today and have the wiring harness grommet and A/C coupler installed.

On a side note, the evaporator brackets provided by Old Air Products are pretty worthless. I decided to make my own fire wall bracket that would allow the unit to attach directly to the existing factory heater holes.

In keeping with my standard operating procedure, I typically hop around on various projects whenever I get stumped or face a hard decision.
I got tired of messing with the air conditioning, so a few days ago I moved to dealing with my bedliner problem. After several days of chipping, scuffing, sanding, and agonizing, I set that aside and decided to tinker with the cruise control install.

I initially thought the cruise control cable hook-up would be a snap since the 3FE throttle body already has a provision for cruise control. However, upon closer inspection it became apparent there was going to be more to it.
The factory cruise control servo motor operates two separate cables, pulling in both directions, while the aftermarket cruise motor only utilizes a single cable.

This meant that the factory throttle body pulley would need to be reworked.

Since I needed a second cable pulley for the cruise cable, oriented in the same direction as the primary, I took a spare throttle body pulley I had on the shelf and cut it up. A little TIG work and now I have two parallel throttle body pulleys.

I think it will work just fine. I still need to find a T-shaped barrel pin for the cruise cable end as well as a swaged Cable tensioner for the cable sheathing to attach to the Mounting plate, but this is essentially how it will look:
