This is beautiful...somebody make it for me (60 headlights on an 80)!

Mine does. I'm doing this because I love the round headlights. The entire grill will be flat black when I'm done with it. Sethzilla=alergic to bling.

60's didn't have factory lockers. :)

Or coil sprung suspensions...same reason Wagoner built his 45 and his 60 on 80-Series chassis...after building his Mercruiser 60 Series and seeing moderately built 80s doing as well or better on the trail...it's an appreciation for the classic aesthetics of the 60 and the more-modern capabilities of the 80.

I think the 80 is able to stand alone, aesthetically, but can certainly appreciate the 60 front face on one...

do it Sethzilla - post up your progress. Subscribed!

I am thinking that is a 60 fender grafted to an 80 fender. Notice the upper fender body line how it gently slopes down to the lip on the hood and around the top of the corner marker/turn signal

See how the 80 fender slopes down much sharper at the top

See how the upper body line is more HOZ ahead of the center of the wheel well

I think this looks much cleaner than the yellow model above

Sethzilla thanks for saving me from myself I went to buy those 60 parts right after you posted up. I am too much of a hack to do something like this but am very interested in watching the thread, especially considering the fender cut you pulled off.

Agreed the green colored one's lines look better. Will you continue on this thread or start a new one?

Won't start until I get the headlights figured out. I don't want it off the road for long. Plus it's actually raining and we haven't started my new workshop yet. I'd like to do this indoors if at all possible.

Japanese tuning. This grill and headlights i will install to my Сruiser

So that is a JDM OEM Toyota part? I see the RHD in the pic!

I've also been mulling this over as I'm laying out a Retro Cruiser idea intended to honor a departed loved one (more on this once I launch the build thread, it'll be spring before it gets really interesting.) I was trying to think of a way to incorporate the white 40 face, but the 60 look might be better given the starting point on the 80.

If anyone can source another of those (at a semi-reasonable price, not wanting to buy a parts car shipped from Japan) they will have a friend (and customer) forever.

This used car imported in Russia from Japan. Now all used parts of this TLC will be sold for russian cruiser's owners (sorry for my english).

I think, it is 60's grill and 60's the round headlights. And it was installed in 80's/ It's japanese handmade :)

Damn, I would give a nut for one like the green one. Someone really needs to make a kit with the grill and fenders.. They would get rich quick.

Do you mean that the owner of the TLC will be selling it off for (as) parts? Have the fenders, lights and grill already sold?

(Your English is not so bad, but I have a Russian friend who speaks "pretty good American." Took me two years to notice the accent when we were drunk, so it seems the standard is high.)

That does seem way easier. I like the look of the 60 turn signals though. Guess we'll see when I tear into it.

I suppose the ghetto-fabulous solution would be to buy some clear corners and paint the upper half amber using the Vans taillight spray paint. Won't win any awards at a beauty contest, but the amount of manual labor you'd save would be huge.

Japanese owner sell it to russian used cars parts reseller, car shipped from Japan to Russian Far East, then all parts are distributed throughout the country. Russian business :hillbilly:
Fenders and claerance lamp are standard. But radiator support, grill, round lights and clearance lamp was detached from car and and I bought it.
