I may have gone completely crazy in trying this but I have yet to find something I cannot do. Hope this isn't it.

I know there are some unobtanium parts that our pigs could use. I'm going to give it a shot in making some.

Here is a site that I think may make my dream a reality.

http://www.alumilite.com

So what I'm gonna start out with trying to make are the rubber gaskets that go under the door handles. That should be easy enough. lol

Probably take some time. But hey if I figure it out it might lead to bigger things.

From the site I can make just about anything in any color of plastic, rubber, or clear lenses. Is there anything that stands out that we really need for a pig?

I was thinking inner tail light gaskets. Not the outer ones that are already being made.

Tailgate outer lock seal.
Rubber gasket for the bottom of the front turn signal.

What else?

lower body frame to tailgate seal<LOL> I know where there is one that can be used for a pattern:grinpimp:

Lou that one may be a little out of my ability.

I bought a new set of rubber gaskets for under the door handles off ebay. $40 Do the rubber gaskets for the rear fixed windows

Marshall, I appreciate your fabricating the handle gaskets...the handles look kinda cheezy without them........count me in for a couple of sets :D

Marshall before you buy anything look at Smooth-on products and talk to them. They have a distributer from down in like Orangeburg or somewhere. He came and did a demo in our sculpture class and just gave us like $200 worth of free stuff. Their products are awesome.

Fire wall boot for the E-brake #85 1968-80 FJ55

I believe is the same as early 40 transfer-case linkage #11 1958-67 FJ40

I think I bought the last one from Toyota #85 for the 78 FJ55 about 4 or 5 years ago and ended up using it on my 66 40, worked very well.

Also steering column boot I cannot find on for my 78 FJ55 :frown:

Thanks' Marshall  If I can be any help please let me know Dusty 66

When I tear into mine over Christmas break, I'll be making a list of all the things I need. I will not mind helping to manufacture parts for us in the machine lab next semester. Or, I'll trade machined metal for some rubber parts :D I'll let you know as I know more.

Just cause they have not been available for years, but the little corner gaskets that go in the upper corners of FJ40's door opening, at the windshield to tub in the door jamb and the rear hardtop side to the body.

Would the mold be aluminum ? ie from a CNC machine?

marshal ya know what would be awsome? the dome light switch lever.

Hmmm that would be pretty easy. As I have a good one And a bad one to test with.
